Waking up in the middle of Australia

You can't get any closer to the magical rock than this

Longitude 131˚ | Northern Territory, Australia

It is an impressive natural spectacle when the 550-million-year-old magical mountain Uluru changes color depending on the time of day and the incidence of light—from warm red, orange, and brown to iridescent violet.

Uluru—formerly known as Ayers Rock—is the sacred mountain of Australia's indigenous people. It has great spiritual and cultural significance for the Aboriginal people.

The inselberg rises from the vast outback landscape of Australia in the middle of the red sand desert in Uluru-Kata-Tjuta National Park, a UNESCO World Natural and Cultural Heritage Site. When you wake up in the morning with a view of Uluru, you can feel the special energy that the Aborigines have always talked about.

Here, in the Red Centre of the Northern Territory, lies the Longitude 131° resort. The lodge offers comfortable accommodation in 16 spacious canvas-covered tented pavilions. Surrounded by red desert and dunes, wide skies and silence, you often have a view of the fifth continent's landmark, Uluru.

The Outback is at your feet, and Longitude 131° offers you extraordinary tours. On hikes to Uluru and Kata Tjuta (also known as the Olgas) with its 36 red spherical rock formations, gorges, and viewing platforms, you will get to know the fascinating surroundings. How about circling Uluru on a Harley or by helicopter?

Experienced nature guides will introduce you to the ancient, mysterious culture of the Aborigines. You will learn more about the legends and stories of the indigenous people, their way of life, art, and culture.

The kitchen will spoil you with culinary delights made from the finest premium products, combined with ingredients from the bush and complemented by selected wines and local craft beers. In the lodge's bars, you can enjoy cocktails or gin distilled exclusively for the lodge.
