Our family trip to the Arctic aboard the Plancius will remain unforgettable. The sight and the myriad colors of the glaciers, watching them crack and calve, listening to the whales breathe, watching the walruses play in the water and on land, keeping an eye out for polar bears in the pack ice, and hiking to various vantage points to experience the “Arctic Silence”—the entire trip was beautiful and magical.The crew on the ship is great, the cabins are very practically furnished, and the food is varied and absolutely delicious. This trip was a dream! It actually far exceeded my long-held expectations. The sheer number of experiences and discoveries was absolutely amazing; for people who love the North, this trip is truly perfect. A key factor in its success was the wonderful sailing ship Rembrandt van Rijn, with an incredibly dedicated crew who not only constantly ensured our absolute safety and well-being but also, day after day, kept ramping up the intensity of our experiences right up to the very end. We were even able to sail into the pack ice, step out from the sailing ship onto an ice floe, and witness an incredible variety of birdlife, including Alkefjellet in the Hinlopen Strait; numerous polar bears, belugas, herds of reindeer, arctic foxes, countless walruses, and also had plenty of time to admire small colorful flowers and explore relics from Svalbard’s centuries-long history. We watched the massive glaciers calve, and at the very end, we were able to observe the daily life of an arctic fox family up close. A trip at this time of year simply couldn’t offer more, and these experiences will surely stay with all participants for a long time to come. Things to Know Before Planning Your Trip

Can we book a safe package tour with you?

When you book a package tour with inventia, German package tour law applies. If inventia is your tour operator, you will receive a security certificate to protect your customer funds. Your quote and travel confirmation clearly state who is organizing your trip and which services are included. Different terms and conditions may apply to services booked individually or arranged through a third party.

Are flights always included?

You can see whether flights are included in the listed services for your trip. Upon request, we’ll plan and book the appropriate travel to and from your destination for you—including convenient transfers and overnight stays along the way. This creates an itinerary where each leg of the journey fits together seamlessly.

In what language will we receive the travel confirmation and travel documents?

You will receive your travel confirmation and legal information in German. Itineraries and documents from our international partners are often in English. In the digital travel portal, you can view available content in German by selecting the language. If you have any questions, we’ll be happy to assist you personally.

Are your trips more expensive?

A meaningful price comparison takes into account the same travel dates, accommodations, cabins, and included services. We’ll clearly show you what’s included in your travel price and what additional costs may apply. On top of that, we offer personalized travel planning and support before, during, and after your trip. We’d be happy to review a comparative quote with you.

How and when will we receive our travel documents?

You will receive your digital travel documents via email before departure, along with a link to your personal Travel Dashboard. There you will find your itinerary, documents, and important information. With the Travel Portal app, you’ll have your documents at your fingertips even while on the go. The availability of these documents depends on your trip and the partners involved; we will notify you as soon as your documents are complete.

Can I have a trip customized for me?

For private trips, we tailor the itinerary to your preferences. For scheduled cruises, we review suitable pre- and post-cruise itineraries as well as the available options.

Can I travel alone?

We look for suitable travel options and review the conditions for single occupancy. Surcharges and any special rates depend on the specific offer.

What does “German-speaking” mean when it comes to travel?

This may apply to the tour guide, individual trips, or specific services. We specify the respective scope in the offer.

When should I start planning?

That depends on the destination, the season, and availability. Private accommodations and small ships, in particular, may require advance planning. For last-minute requests, we’ll check the current options.

How do I get a specific quote?
