10-day self-drive trip from Ushuaia to El Calafate
A real Patagonian highlight tour:
You will start in Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world, located on the Argentine side of Patagonia. From here, you will explore Tierra del Fuego, hike in the Tierra del Fuego mountains and nature reserves, climb glaciers, cruise the Beagle Channel connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, visit a king penguin colony, and take a train ride through the famous Tierra del Fuego National Park.
From Tierra del Fuego, we continue north to the Patagonian wonders of Torres del Paine National Park in Chile.
To round off your trip, visit the majestic Perito Moreno Glacier in Los Glaciares National Park.

Explore the wonders of Patagonia with a rental car
Day 1: Ushuaia
After arriving in Ushuaia, pick up your rental car and drive to the hotel. It is worth visiting Tierra del Fuego National Park.
Day 2: Ushuaia
Today we recommend a boat trip on the Beagle Channel and a hike to the Martial Glacier. F
Day 3: Ushuaia – Estancia Rolito
You will drive over the beautiful Garibaldi Pass, past Lago Fagnano to Estancia Rolito. In the afternoon, you will explore the estancia grounds together with the owners. B/D
Day 4: Rolito Ranch – Onaisín Ranch – Caleta Josefina Ranch
You continue to San Sebastián and cross the border into Chile. Then you travel to Estancia Onaisín, located on Bahía Inútil bay, home to the only colony of king penguins in the region (no visits on Mondays). This is followed by a short drive to Estancia Caleta Josefina. F
Day 5: Estancia Caleta Josefina – Punta Arenas
You drive via Cerro Sombrero to the Strait of Magellan and take the ferry from Bahía Azul to Punta Delgada. From here, you continue on to Punta Arenas. F
Day 6: Punta Arenas – Puerto Natales
You drive to Puerto Natales on the Fjord of Last Hope. F
Day 7: Torres del Paine National Park
Enjoy the day on a tour of Torres del Paine National Park. F
Day 8: Puerto Natales – El Calafate
You drive across the border to El Calafate. F
Day 9: Perito Moreno Glacier
Take advantage of today to visit the spectacular Perito Moreno Glacier, whose ice blocks regularly crash impressively into the glacier lake. F
Day 10: El Calafate
You will return to El Calafate Airport, where you will drop off your rental car. F
