2024 and 2025: The years of the super aurora

This year and next year, we expect particularly frequent and intense northern lights.

Almost every day, I receive success stories and photos from our customers who have been able to experience this fascinating light show. I was also lucky enough to see the Northern Lights over East Greenland in mid-August.

Exclusive, owner-managed Aurora resort Aurora Village

Our 26 comfortable Northern Lights chalets with laser-heated glass roofs offer a unique combination of comfort and nature experience.

The chalets are approximately 29 square meters in size and equipped with a refrigerator, espresso machine, electric kettle, bathroom with shower and toilet, hairdryer, and free Wi-Fi.

In the restaurant, we will spoil you with regional delicacies, while you can relax by the open fireplace in the bar.

Unlike many large resorts, you won't find crowded buses full of large tour groups here. Even when all the chalets are occupied, no more than 50 guests enjoy the tranquility of the resort at any one time – a real privilege in Finnish Lapland.

Watching the Northern Lights from your bed: Unobstructed view of the aurora borealis

Imagine lying in your warm, cozy bed under the glass roof of your chalet while the colorful northern lights dance above you.

If, on the other hand, you have spent nights outside in the freezing cold at -20°C to -30°C searching for the Northern Lights, you will particularly appreciate the glass roof.

The Finnish airline Finnair is extremely reliable and will take you directly from Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg, or Berlin to Lapland in around 6–8 hours (including a short stopover in Helsinki) —every day!

Discover also offers nonstop flights from Frankfurt, Hamburg, and Munich to Ivalo, but only once or twice a week.
