On this spectacular journey by train, bus, and boat, with a highlight on the MOB route, you will get to know Switzerland at its most beautiful. A rail cruise from the Bernese Oberland to French-speaking Switzerland, through Valais, and from Graubünden to Ticino. You will travel criss-cross and up and down the most beautiful panoramic routes. Along the way, you will also explore Switzerland's most popular holiday destinations: Interlaken between Lake Brienz and Lake Thun, Montreux on Lake Geneva, the mountaineering village of Zermatt, Andermatt in the canton of Uri, St. Moritz in the Upper Engadine, and Lugano in Ticino.

Day 1 Arrival in Interlaken
Meet with the tour guide at Basel SBB and continue together (departure at 3:31 p.m.) via Bern, Thun, and Spiez to Interlaken. Walk to the hotel. Dinner together and overnight stay at the Hotel Metropole Swiss Quality in Interlaken.
Day 2 Excursion to the Jungfraujoch
Breakfast at the hotel. Together with our tour guide, you will embark on a round trip through the Bernese Oberland. Bernese Oberland Railway, the new 3S cable car "Eigerexpress," Jungfrau Railway, and Wengernalp Railway. Departure from Interlaken to the station of the new V-Bahn*, the Grindelwald Terminal. Take the modern Eigerexpress (gondola lift) up to the Eiger Glacier station. The Jungfrau Railway awaits you for the onward journey through rock and ice, steeply up to the 3,545 m high Jungfraujoch. Enjoy the impressive view of a huge sea of ice and the mountains of the Bernese Oberland and explore the world of rock and ice. After your stay, descend to Kleine Scheidegg and continue with the Wengernalp Railway to Lauterbrunnen. The Bernese Oberland Railway takes over again for the last stage. Dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel Metropole Swiss Quality in Interlaken.
Day 3 Goldenpass Express
Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will set off at 8 a.m. on a varied journey by train, boat, and steam train. First, you will travel to Brienz, where you will transfer to the steam train up to the Brienzer Rothorn. The train climbs steeply to an altitude of 2,252 m (arrival at approx. 9:30 a.m.). Enjoy the view before heading back down to Brienz and boarding the boat that will take you back to Interlaken. From here, continue by train along Lake Thun to Zweisimmen. Here you will board the Goldenpass Express - NEW: Prestige Class. A nostalgic journey to Montreux awaits you. The city on the shores of Lake Geneva offers you a magnificent Alpine backdrop, the world-famous Montreux Jazz Festival, and sights such as Chillon Castle. Take a stroll along the waterfront promenade to the statue of Freddie Mercury! Luggage transfer from Interlaken to Montreux and walk to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Montreux.
Day 4: Ascent and descent with the Gornergrat Railway
Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy this morning at your leisure. Around mid-morning, we will take a walk together to the train station. Travel up the Rhone Valley on the standard-gauge SBB railway to Visp. Change to the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway. After an hour-long steep climb through the Matter Valley, we will reach car-free Zermatt at noon. Luggage transfer and walk to the hotel. Arrival around 1:30 p.m. Today you have a few hours of free time. Your luggage will be stored at the hotel until check-in. Ascent and descent with the Gornergrat Bahn. In the early afternoon, you will set off together on an adventure ride with the cogwheel railway. First, the ride goes up to the Gornergrat! Stay for about an hour. Then take the Gornergrat Railway to the Riffelalp station, where a delicious dinner (Valais specialties) awaits you after a short walk, with a unique view of the Matterhorn. In the evening, the Gornergrat Railway will take you back to Zermatt. Walk to the hotel. Overnight stay at a hotel in Zermatt.
Day 5 Furka Mountain Steam Railway Oberwald
Breakfast at the hotel. Luggage transfer to Andermatt. Walk to the train station. Over the next two days, you will get to know the Glacier Express route. Not only will you travel the route of the modern panorama train, but you will also have the opportunity to explore the "old route" via the Furka Pass. In the morning, you will leave the mountaineering village of Zermatt and take the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway down to Visp and continue up the Rhone to Oberwald. Opportunity for lunch. In the early afternoon, the journey begins via the Furka mountain route with the Furka steam train. Immediately after Oberwald station, the rack section begins and the train climbs steeply towards Gletsch, continuing through the barren landscape of the Rhone Glacier, through the Furka summit tunnel to the highest point of today's journey, Furka station. The journey continues just as steeply down through the Furka Reuss valley to Realp, where you change back to the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway and shortly afterwards reach the village of Andermatt. Walk to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at the Radisson Hotel in Andermatt.
Day 6: Ride in the Glacier Express panoramic car to St. Moritz
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, you will have some free time before boarding the modern panoramic cars of the Premium Glacier Express. From Andermatt, the train climbs steeply in serpentines to the Oberalp Pass at 2,033 meters. The journey continues past the source of the Vorderrhein river through Tujetsch down to Disentis, where the Glacier Express is handed over to the Rhaetian Railway. Lunch will be served at your seat during the journey over the Oberalp Pass. This is followed by a journey through the wild and romantic Rhine Gorge, the Swiss Grand Canyon, to Chur, Switzerland's oldest town. After changing direction, the journey continues along the Albula line, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, up to the terminus in St. Moritz in the Engadin. Luggage transfer from the station forecourt and walk to the hotel. Dinner together. Overnight stay at the Hotel Crystal in St. Moritz.
Day 7: Ride in the Bernina Express panoramic car to Lugano
Breakfast at the hotel. Luggage transport/walk to the train station. Today, a very special treat awaits you. You will travel along one of the most beautiful panoramic routes in Switzerland. On the Bernina Express panoramic train, you will pass the Morteratsch Glacier and Bernina Waterfall, reaching Ospizio Bernina, the highest through station in Europe at 2,253 m, before beginning the fascinating descent of 1,800 m down to Tirano. Opportunity for a stroll through the town and lunch. There you will change to the Bernina Express Bus, which passes Lake Como and reaches Lugano in the afternoon. An eventful journey from the glaciers of the Engadin to the palm trees on Lake Lugano. Walk to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at the Best Western Hotel Bellevue au Lac 4* in Lugano.
Day 8 Gotthard Panorama Express ride
Breakfast at the hotel. On the last day of your trip, you will embark on a very special adventure. The Gotthard Panorama Express is a varied combination of a panoramic train ride and a boat trip. In a first-class panoramic carriage, you will travel along the historic Gotthard mountain route from Lugano up to Airolo and through the Gotthard summit tunnel towards Flüelen. You will pass the small church in Wassen three times. In Flüelen, you will transfer to the boat. You will glide gently across Lake Lucerne, passing historic sites such as Tellskapelle and Rütliwiese. From Lucerne, you will travel by train again towards the Swiss border. Arrival in Basel at approx. 4:40 p.m. Journey home.
