MS World Voyager

Polar expedition ship for 168 guests

MS World Voyager

A modern polar expedition ship for 168 guests, built for science and exploration, featuring a Science Hub, a glass-domed lounge, and a wraparound outdoor deck.

The World Voyager is the newest addition to a fleet specializing in polar regions. Inside the glass-domed lounge on Deck 7 (The Dome), panoramic views open up directly onto the ice, and on Deck 8, a wraparound outdoor deck encircles the entire ship, complete with a running track for exercise in the fresh polar air.

18 Zodiacs ensure quick, safe landings away from the ports; the Ready Room on Deck 3 is located right next to the boarding points, making boarding and disembarking a breeze.

Inside the ship, you’ll find a restaurant with floor-to-ceiling windows on Deck 4, a lecture theater with seating for all guests, the Science Hub—a central gathering place for interacting with the scientists on board—a spa with a sauna, a fitness center, and a heated outdoor pool with two hot tubs on Deck 7.

Two 9,000-kW hybrid-electric Rolls-Royce engines reduce fuel consumption and noise pollution. A MAGS gasification system converts onboard waste into energy directly on board; the vessel operates in Antarctica from November through March and in the Arctic from May through September.

sustainability

Polar ship with an active sustainability program.

A gasification system (MAGS) installed inside the ship converts onboard waste into energy directly on board, eliminating the need to transport waste to shore. The two 9,000-kW hybrid-electric Rolls-Royce engines reduce fuel consumption and noise pollution in the sensitive polar waters.

The expedition team follows the guidelines of the IAATO (International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators) and the AECO (Association of Arctic Expedition Cruise Operators) regarding minimum distances from wildlife, biosecurity, and maximum group sizes during shore landings.

Safety: Onboard physician available 24/7, medical clinic on Deck 4, mandatory safety training including a lifeboat drill within the first 24 hours after departure.

Reducing plastic waste: Reusable water bottles for all guests; shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel are provided in the cabins; water conservation and battery recycling on board.

Research on board: As part of the Science & Discovery Program, you’ll have the opportunity to interact with the Scientists in Residence at the Science Hub on Deck 4, while expedition guides will supplement the experience with lectures in the Lecture Theater.
