14 days (13 nights)

MS World Voyager | Ocean Explorer
14 days (13 nights) Antarctic expedition from/to Buenos Aires or from/to Ushuaia, including Drake Passage, South Shetland Islands, Antarctic Peninsula, and Antarctic Circle.
This expedition not only includes the most in-depth exploration of the Antarctic Peninsula, but also offers the opportunity to travel further south across the Antarctic Circle. On your way to a milestone that few travelers reach, you will feel like you are in a world without boundaries as you travel across endless ice-covered landscapes.
Dramatic ice formations will spark your imagination as you search for whales, seals, and penguins. Whether it's humpback whales alongside the ship, a leopard seal diving beneath your Zodiac, penguins sliding from an iceberg into crystal-clear waters, or a giant petrel hovering over cracking sea ice, you'll experience sensory overload in Antarctica like you've never experienced before.
There are few places in the world as dramatic and enchanting as Antarctica. As you approach theAntarctic Peninsula, breathtaking moments are guaranteed.

itinerary
Southern expedition crossing the Antarctic Circle
Day 1: Buenos Aires
Upon arrival in this cosmopolitan city, known for its architecture and rich European heritage, you will make your own way to your group hotel (the pre-expedition night’s stay at the hotel is included in the mandatory transfer package).
Day 2: Flight to Ushuaia and boarding
After an early breakfast at the hotel, the group will be taken to the airport and board our private charter flight to Ushuaia, Argentina.
Upon arrival, you will be taken from the airport to a central location in the city center, where you will have some free time to explore this charming port town on your own before heading to the pier.
When the ship sets sail in the late afternoon, your Antarctic journey begins as you cruise through the historic Beagle Channel. Named after the famous ship on which Charles Darwin traveled, the channel offers excellent photo opportunities of the scenery and seabirds. Eventually, the channel opens up into the Southern Ocean—and the journey continues toward Antarctica.
Days 3 & 4: Crossing the Drake Passage
Your daysat sea will be filled with presentations and lectures led by your expedition team, who will prepare you for the wildlife that will greet you upon arrival. Between presentations, spend time with your fellow passengers over a drink at the bar or enjoy the fresh air and views on the outside decks.
Days 5–7: South Shetland Islands and Antarctic Peninsula
The most common reaction upon arrival on the White Continent is a sense of awe. The experience is indescribable, as few places are as untouched and constant as Antarctica. You will slowly understand why this region has long captivated the attention of explorers and travelers alike. Every time we visit Antarctica, we witness something new or unexpected, which means that your expedition will be like no other—a unique, personal experience.
Every day, you will take Zodiac excursions from the ship to explore bays, channels, and landing sites. With wildlife always at the forefront, you will visit penguin colonies, look for humpback and minke whales, and search for a range of southern seal species, including the cunning leopard seal.
Your expedition team will take care of you during every landing, whether you are exploring the Antarctic terrain, visiting a research station, or interacting with penguin colonies. Chinstrap, Adélie, and gentoo penguins can be found here, as well as four different species of seals. Zodiac rides offer the opportunity to observe some of the larger local marine mammals, such as Antarctic minke and humpback whales, up close. Each day and each excursion will present a new collection of creatures to delight you and keep your camera busy.
Your days will be filled with wildlife viewing and marveling at the astonishing beauty of Antarctica. Listening to the crackling and creaking of icebergs and glaciers and watching penguins waddle along the beach will be your daily entertainment, while sea kayaking, paddle excursions, or camping are optional activities on select voyages (at an additional cost).
Days 8 & 9: Antarctic Circle
Crossing the Antarctic Circleis an impressive achievement, as most expeditions to the Antarctic Peninsula do not venture this far south. If conditions permit crossing this famous line at 66°33′ S, you and your fellow passengers will celebrate in style with a well-deserved glass of champagne!
Raise a glass and be proud that you have made it to a part of the world that very few people ever visit. This is the rugged Antarctic, home to the midnight sun, Adélie penguins, and some of the most impressive ice formations you will ever see on this planet.
Days 10 & 11: North along the peninsula
By now, you will not only be familiar with Adélie, chinstrap, and gentoo penguins, but you will also be able to distinguish between leopard, crabeater, and Weddell seals. Terms such as "bergy bits" and "pancake ice" will become part of your vocabulary, but there are still many stories to tell. As you head north, your days will be filled with Zodiac excursions, and your expedition team will continue to look for species of seabirds, seals, and whales that you may have missed on your journey south.
Days 12 & 13: Crossing the Drake Passage
As you cross the Drake Passageonce again, Antarctica fades away, leaving behind a collection of memories that will last a lifetime. Exciting conversations with your newfound friends will make the crossing fly by, regardless of weather and sea conditions. Your expedition team will round off their series of presentations with a slideshow of the magnificent landing sites and wildlife you have observed during your journey. Take some time to reflect on everything you have experienced.
Day 14: Disembarkation in Ushuaia and flight to Buenos Aires
You will arrive in Ushuaia in the morning and disembark after breakfast. The mandatory transfer package includes a small taste of Patagonia with a tour of Tierra del Fuego National Park before transferring to the airport for the group charter flight back to Buenos Aires.
activities
KAYAKING
Imagine gliding across the surface of a bay surrounded by icebergs and glaciers. Kayaking is a great way to explore your surroundings in a spectacular way. A small group of kayakers will go out several times per trip as an alternative to landings or Zodiac rides.
The number of opportunities for kayaking depends on the weather and is only available in calm conditions. Previous kayaking experience is required, and you must be able to exit the kayak into the water in order to participate. Beginners who are interested in kayaking should consider participating in the paddle tour.
PADDLE TOURIf you are interested in kayaking but are less experienced when it comes to sea kayaking, a paddle tour is the perfect option for you. Paddling on stable sit-on-top kayaks is perfect for anyone with little or no kayaking experience. On calm days, rotating groups of passengers are selected, with experienced guides always on hand to give you instructions and help you connect with the Arctic Ocean.
STAND-UP PADDLE
Combining surfing, kayaking, stand-up paddling, and paddling offers you a very personal and unique perspective on Antarctica. Conducted in small groups—in calm bays and harbors, weather permitting—and accompanied by a safety team, these one-of-a-kind stand-up paddle excursions can be booked in advance in two consecutive priority groups. Following the first two successful excursions, this activity will be offered for all subsequent excursions on a first-come, first-served basis through sign-up on board the ship.
CAMPING (January only)
Treat yourself to a night of camping adventure in Antarctica! This is one of the best ways to experience Antarctica in an intimate way and take your expedition to the next level. A safety briefing on board will prepare you for a night under the stars. Dress warmly and eat a hearty meal before you set off, as no meals are allowed on land. All equipment and instruction will be provided; a tent is not required.
PLEASE NOTE: Advance registration is required for all paid activities. It is recommended to book early as places fill up quickly. Please refer to your information materials for a list of equipment provided for each option.
