AURORA TOURS

Aurora adventure in a heated sleigh, 2 hours, including hot drinks and snacks

In the Aurora sleigh, pulled by a snowmobile through the snow-covered winter landscape, your tour guide will take you to a place where the Northern Lights often dance in the sky. Our sleigh, covered with Plexiglas, can accommodate six people. Hot drinks and a small snack are included, as are stories from your experienced tour guide.

After checking the weather forecast, your guide will drive you to the places where the sky is clearest and the chances of seeing the Northern Lights are greatest. Your experienced tour guide is a professional aurora observer and has some interesting stories to tell. You will enjoy a hot drink and a snack during the tour. You will have access to the photos taken during the trip.

Nighttime snowmobile tour, 2 hours, including hot drinks and snacks

With a snowmobile, anything is possible! Your guide will lead you through the snow-covered forests and up into the hills to watch the Northern Lights far away from any artificial light. Driving at night is exciting. You might even see a few white rabbits or reindeer in the headlights.
To drive, participants must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license. Minors aged 12 and over are allowed to sit on the snowmobile, but under no circumstances are they allowed to drive. Two people share one snowmobile. You will have access to the photos taken during the ride.

Nighttime snowshoe hike, 1.5–2 hours, including hot drink and snack

Put on a pair of snowshoes and follow your professional guide into the beautiful, snow-covered forests of the surrounding area. The hike is partly easy in the snow and also offers a deep snow experience. With a little luck, the northern lights will dance above you and, if you like, you can listen to your guide's exciting stories at the same time. Hot drinks and snacks are included.

Observation of the Arctic starry sky with a telescope, 1 hour 15 minutes, including hot drinks

The tour includes the use of a powerful 9.25-inch telescope and the opportunity to observe the stars with the naked eye, accompanied by an experienced astronomy guide. There is an outdoor program and an indoor part in the planetarium, which offers deeper insights into the mysteries of our universe while protecting you from the cool winter air—with a warm drink in your hand!

HUSKY SAFARIS

Husky safari in the Lapland wilderness, 2 hours, including hot drink

Your husky musher will pick you up and take you to a nearby family-run husky farm. There you will receive instruction on how to steer the sleds, which you will drive in pairs. One person sits in the sled while the other drives it. Halfway through the trip, you will be offered a hot drink and can swap places before heading back. This is one of the best ways to get around here in Lapland and breathe in the fresh Arctic air. Get to know the wonderful Alaskan huskies and experience this fantastic outdoor activity!

Husky safari, 5 hours, including transfer and lunch

Fancy a longer tour with the Arctic dogs? Here you can go on a half-day husky safari through the snow-covered landscape of the Lapland forests. You will receive instruction on how to steer the sled, which you will drive in pairs. One person sits in the sled, the other drives as the musher. Halfway through, you will enjoy lunch in the wilderness and learn a lot about huskies from your guide, a professional musher. On the way back, you will swap places so that you can both try mushing for yourselves!

REINDEER

Reindeer feeding and photography, 10-20 minutes

You feed a nice bag of lichen to the reindeer at Aurora Village. Reindeer love lichen! They come very close and, with a little patience, will eat out of your hand. This is also a good opportunity to take close-up photos of the reindeer.

Reindeer sleigh ride, 45 minutes

Meet your guide at the Aurora Village reception, who will take you on a short walk to the reindeer park. Your reindeer sleigh will be waiting for you, ready to take you on a peaceful winter adventure in traditional "Raito" style, where the reindeer pull the sleigh one after the other. Sit back and enjoy the 1000m sleigh ride through the snow-covered forest.

Arctic craft workshop using traditional materials, 1 hour

Under professional guidance, design your own souvenir to take home with you as a memento. The workshop is suitable for anyone who wants to learn more about the culture of this region—even beginners!
We work with traditional materials such as reindeer antlers and leather. Let your creativity run wild and create a unique piece that you can proudly display at home.

Visit to the Siida Museum & Inari Village, 3.5–4 hours

Your guide will accompany you through fascinating landscapes, past several small lakes and the impressive Lake Inari. He will be available to answer any questions you may have in the museum. You will also have enough time to explore the exhibition yourself.
The museum, which has received many international awards, offers an authentic insight into the traditional way of life of the Sámi and the eight seasons of Lapland's nature.

Private Santa Claus Experience

A beautiful Finnish horse awaits you at the meeting point. You sit comfortably in a sleigh with lambskin blankets to keep you warm. During the 20-minute sleigh ride, you can enjoy the silence of the snow-covered winter forest and hear only the sound of the snow on the sleigh skis and the sleigh bells dancing to the rhythm of the horse in front of you. It is already getting dark and there is a mysterious feeling of a Christmas adventure in the air. In the middle of the deepest forest, in a secret place, Santa Claus has his hut. One of Santa's elves welcomes you and leads you inside to meet Santa Claus. Santa is happy to see you, and he knows amazing things about the past year, so be careful! After the meeting, you will ride the horse-drawn sleigh back to the idyllic Aurora Village. This tour is very magical and respects the traditional way of life. It is a peaceful and beautiful way to meet Santa privately without the tourist crowds.

SPORTS ACTIVITIES IN NATURE

Cross-country skiing introduction, 1.5 hours, depending on weather and snow conditions

Your guide will help you put on your ski boots and choose the right skis and poles. You will learn the basic skiing techniques from your guide. The slopes are easy enough for beginners, and the length of the tour will be adapted to your skill level.

Hiking in Urho Kekkonen National Park, 3–3.5 hours

You will travel by minibus from the village of Aurora to Saariselkä and hike up into the fell region of Urho Kekkonen National Park. It is Finland's second largest national park and encompasses the fell areas of Saariselkä and the forest areas of the northern parts of the municipalities of Savukoski and Salla. This area, known as Koilliskaira, is one of the last wilderness regions in Western Europe. The purpose of the national park is to preserve the original forest, moor, and fell landscape. Good outdoor clothing and sturdy shoes are recommended.

Ice kart race, 1 hour with 2 x 10-minute drives

Race on ice and snow! You will drive special winter go-karts on the icy track that has been laid out in the forest near Aurora Village. The timing system will show you your lap times during a break. Like true Finns, you can celebrate the traditional way of sauna bathing here. The small, wood-fired sauna for four people is located right by the river and has a hole in the ice layer so you can dive into the ice-cold water. There is no running water in the sauna – only water from the river. We kindly ask you to help protect our environment and our water by refraining from using shampoo, soap, or other detergents in this sauna. Thank you very much!
