The hotel restaurant is a renowned gourmet restaurant in southern Iceland overlooking one of the country's most famous salmon rivers, the East Rangá River. Based on the concept of a "farmers' market," it primarily uses fresh, seasonal, and regional products of the highest quality. In the style of modern Nordic cuisine.

There are three outdoor hot tubs available for your use. They are located on the riverbank and are open every day. Enjoy the hot tub with a drink while watching the stars or perhaps even the northern lights.

The Rangá Hotel Observatory has a retractable roof, which is by far the most modern in Iceland. Here you can gaze up at the black, clear sky and spend an intimate evening with the universe, or even a romantic night with your spouse. The observatory is located about 150 meters from the main building. You have access to two high-quality astronomical telescopes.

The nearest international airport is Keflavik Airport. From there, it takes about two hours to reach Hella (140 km).
From Reykjavik, the hotel, located in the south of the island, is about a 1.5-hour drive away (96 km). It is situated in an idyllic, secluded area in Hella next to the East-Rangá River, which is known for its salmon.

Stargazing at the
The hotel’s own observatory is the perfect place to gaze at the starry sky over Iceland and is the only one in the country open to the public. Thanks to its rural location, there is virtually no light pollution. However, stargazing is only possible in winter when the sky is clear.

Glacier ToursIceland is famous for its glaciers. There are six of them in the south of the country and the surrounding area. One of them, Vatnajökull, is the largest glacier in Europe. Since the glaciers are constantly moving and glide over water, an experienced guide is essential. Tours are subject to weather conditions and the season. Lava Cave ExplorationExplore the magnificent Raufarhólshellir lava tunnel—one of Iceland’s longest and most famous lava caves. A trip to Raufarhólshellir is a unique experience and a great opportunity to witness the inner workings of an ancient volcanic eruption as you walk along the path of lava that flowed about 5,200 years ago during the Leitarhraun eruption.
Ice Cave ExplorationThis tour gives you the opportunity to explore and photograph stunning mountains and mysterious ice caves. The Mýrdalsjökull Glacier features black, white, and blue ice that is over 800 years old.
Whale Watching
The cool North Atlantic is home to various species of whales of all sizes. However, the most commonly sighted are the minke whale and the common dolphin, also known as the porpoise. Whale-watching tours are organized from various ports around Iceland, including Reykjavik and the Westman Islands.
Fishing
The Hotel Rangá is located on the banks of one of Iceland’s best salmon rivers, the East Rangá River. Salmon fishing is very popular in Iceland, and spots on the rivers are booked well in advance. There are several rivers and lakes in southern Iceland where you can fish for Arctic char and brown trout. The fishing season runs from June to October.

Snorkeling/Diving
, Iceland, boasts several snorkeling and diving spots, both in the ocean and in freshwater. Water temperatures here range from 2°C to 10°C, so a wetsuit is a must. The most famous snorkeling hotspot is likely the Silfra fissure, formed by the drifting apart of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates.
