Norwegian fjord landscape on a small ship
Upon arrival in Norway, you will first stroll through the colorful Art Nouveau town of Ålesund, idyllically nestled between fjords, mountains, and the sea. In the following days, you will see majestic sea eagles circling above the bird islands of Smøla and travel through contrasting landscapes such as Brønnøysund with the granite mountain Torghatten – unmistakable with its distinctive hole – and the Vega archipelago with its shallow lagoons and grass-covered islets. An absolute highlight of this ship expedition from Scotland to Norway is the entrance to the Trollfjord in Lofoten. The very narrow, majestic fjord is framed by vertical cliffs up to 1,000 meters high. Inaccessible to large cruise ships, you can experience the fjord and its animal inhabitants, such as seals and eagles, up close on a Zodiac excursion.

Your journey to Glasgow and your departure from Tromsø are not included in the price of your trip.
Since our customers all have individual wishes for their trip, we are happy to book flights separately. Of course, the flights then become part of a secure package tour. We recommend an overnight stay in Glasgow to cushion any irregularities with your flight or lost luggage. We are happy to organize everything for you on request. Please contact us.
Day 1: Embarkation in Glasgow
Your journey begins in the charming Scottish city of Glasgow. Here you will board the Aqua Lares and settle into your luxurious suite. You will get to know your crew and your fellow travelers for the next 10 days.
Day 2: Iona & Staffa
Today, you will discover Iona, a small island considered to be the cradle of Christianity in Scotland . Here, you will find an abbey steeped in history, nestled in a peaceful, unspoiled landscape.
After lunch, your journey continues to the island of Staffa, famous for its hexagonal basalt columns and impressive sea caves. Among them is the legendary Fingal's Cave —a cave that has inspired artists and poets for centuries.
Day 3: St. Kilda
Today you will reach the remote archipelago of St Kilda. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is lined with majestic cliffs where huge colonies of gannets, guillemots, and puffinsnest. Meanwhile, the remains of old stone houses tell the story of a community that once lived in this isolated environment. The rugged beauty of the islands and their rich cultural past make St Kilda one of Scotland's most extraordinary destinations.
Day 4: Callanish on the Isle of Lewis
On the Isle of Lewis, explore the Callanish Stones, a prehistoric stone circle over 5,000 years old. Located on a windswept moor, this world-famous megalithic site is the largest of its kind in the British Isles.
Day 5: Mousa Broch
Today, the Aqua Lares sails to the Shetland Islands, where you can visit Mousa Broch. The remarkably well-preserved Iron Age stone tower provides an insight into Scotland's early history, while the surrounding coastline offers opportunities to observe seabirds and seals in their natural habitat.
Day 6: Ålesund
Today, discover Ålesund, a city famous for its Art Nouveau architecture. Its colorful buildings and sweeping coastal views make Ålesund one of Norway's most distinctive cities.
Day 7: Smøla
When you wake up today, you will find yourself surrounded by the flat islands and vast seascapes that characterize Smøla. The scattered islets provide a habitat for a diverse bird life, including white-tailed eagles. Small fishing villages along the coast offer insights into Norway's traditional maritime way of life.
Day 8: Brønnøysund
Located on the Torget peninsula, Brønnøysund is surrounded by mountains and islands. Off the coast, scenic highlights await, such as the imposing granite mountain Torghatten and the Vega archipelago with its shallow lagoons and grass-covered islets. The town itself reflects Norway's close connection to the sea and its coastal traditions.
Day 9: Reine, Lofoten & Trollfjorden
On the penultimate day of your trip, you will wake up to views of the island community of Reine in Lofoten, surrounded by rugged peaks, deep blue fjords, and colorful fishing villages.
After lunch, you will continue on to Trollfjord, a narrow, majestic fjord surrounded by vertical cliffs up to 1,000 meters high. A Zodiac ridewill bring you close to majestic eagles and curious seals along the dramatic fjord shore.
Day 10: Arrival in Tromsø
Enjoy one last breakfast on board before saying goodbye to the Aqua Lares and the crew in Tromsø.
