MS Hondius

New and advanced expedition ship in the fleet | in service since summer 2019

The MS Hondius is the world's first registered Polar Class 6 ship, meeting the latest and highest Lloyd's Register standards for ice-strengthened cruise ships.

The MS Hondius exceeds the requirements of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Polar Code and is the most flexible, advanced, and innovative cruise ship in the polar regions.

It has been carefully optimized for exploration trips, allowing you to experience the Arctic and Antarctic firsthand.

It’s not just the numerous amenities and entertainment options on board that help make your Hondius cruise an unforgettable experience.

Hondius uses LED lighting, steam heating, biodegradable paints and lubricants, as well as state-of-the-art energy management systems that keep fuel consumption to a minimum.

This means that when you travel aboard Hondius, you can enjoy the exotic landscape and wildlife to the fullest while having minimal impact on it.

German-language services available!
On board the Hondius, you will be accompanied by at least one German-speaking lecturer or tour guide. Some of the landings in the ship's Zodiacs will be accompanied by the German-speaking lecturer, who will assist with translations. Announcements on board are in English/German. In addition, the daily programs are provided in German.
