The Grand Tour with the Falkland Islands, South Georgia, and the Antarctic Peninsula

Day 2: Winged life in the westerlies
Several species of albatrosses, storm petrels, shearwaters, and diving petrels follow the ship with the westerlies.

On the 21-day trip, you will spend 2 days at sea heading towards the Falkland Islands.

Day 4: Home of Falkland culture
The capital of the Falklands, Port Stanley has South American features mixed with a little Victorian charm: colorful houses, well-kept gardens, and English pubs. In the surrounding area, you can see shipwrecks that are several hundred years old, silent witnesses to the difficult conditions of 19th-century seafaring.

The small but interesting museum is also worth a visit. It tells the story of the island's settlement from its beginnings to the Falklands War. However, admission fees to the museum and other local attractions must be paid separately. Today, around 2,100 people live in the capital, which you can explore at your leisure.

Days 7–10: South Georgia
Today you will reach South Georgia and can start your first activities. Weather conditions can be very challenging here and will largely determine the program.

Places you may visit include:
Salisbury Plain, St. Andrews Bay, Gold Harbor – These places are not only home to the three largest king penguin colonies in South Georgia, they are also three of the world's largest breeding areas for southern elephant seals. Only at this time of year do they reach their maximum numbers. Watch as the four-ton bulls constantly guard the areas where dozens of females have just given birth or are about to give birth. During the breeding season (December–January), you can also see a considerable number of Antarctic fur seals here.

Fortuna Bay – Near beaches populated by penguins and seals, you have the opportunity to follow the last leg of Shackleton's journey to the abandoned whaling village of Stromness. This route takes you over the mountain pass behind Shackleton's Waterfall. The terrain here is partly marshy, so be prepared to cross a few small streams along the way.

Grytviken – You have the opportunity to visit the abandoned whaling station, where king penguins now roam the streets and elephant seals lie around as if they own the place. You can also visit the South Georgia Museum and Shackleton's grave.

On the afternoon of the 10th day, depending on conditions, we will sail south towards the South Orkney Islands.

Day 12: The South Orkney Islands
Depending on weather conditions, you will visit the Orcadas research station—an Argentine scientific station on Laurie Island. The staff will be happy to show you around the station. If a visit here is not possible, you will alternatively land at Shingle Cove on Signy Island.

Days 14-16: The awe-inspiring Antarctic
Ice permitting, approach the Antarctic Peninsula from the Weddell Sea. Here, colossal tabular icebergs herald your arrival on the eastern side of the Antarctic Peninsula. Paulet Island, with its large population of Adélie penguins, is a possible stop. You may visit Brown Bluff in the ice-covered Antarctic Sound, where you will set foot on the Antarctic continent.

If conditions for passage from the east into the Weddell Sea are not favorable, we will head towards Elephant Island and sail into the Bransfield Strait between the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula. Here we will attempt to enter the Antarctic Sound from the northwest.

The breathtaking scenery continues in the southern Gerlache Strait, and if ice conditions permit, you may even reach the Lemaire Channel. Conditions in the notorious Drake Passage will determine the exact departure time.

On the 20-day trip, you will spend another day on the Antarctic Peninsula.

Day 19: The southernmost city in the world
Every adventure, no matter how great, must come to an end at some point. Now it's time to disembark in Ushuaia—but with memories that will accompany you wherever your next adventure takes you.

POLAR DIVING

In the icy waters of the polar regions, a fascinating world of shimmering ice formations and surprisingly diverse marine life opens up beneath the surface. Between icebergs and under pack ice, divers encounter colorful soft corals, sea anemones, crabs, and other specialized organisms that are perfectly adapted to the extreme conditions.

The dives are accompanied by experienced guides and carefully planned. Safety is the top priority. Depending on weather and ice conditions, one to two dives with a maximum depth of about 20 meters are planned per day. Prerequisites for participation are extensive experience in cold water diving and routine in handling dry suits.
