50 YEARS OF VICTORY
The world's most powerful icebreaker
The nuclear icebreaker 50 YEARS OF VICTORY was built to keep the sea routes in the far north of Siberia open. With its 75,000 horsepower, it is the most powerful icebreaker in the world, capable of breaking ice up to three meters thick.
The 50 YEARS OF VICTORY is the most modern ship in the "Arktika class" and a sister ship to the well-known YAMAL. It has 64 outside cabins and suites, a lounge with an adjoining bar, a restaurant with free seating, a small library, and a lecture room. The ship also has an indoor pool with a fitness room and sauna, a small shop, and a hospital. While Russian officers guide you safely through the ice, international scientists organize excursions and provide you with interesting information about the area. A helicopter and motorized inflatable boats (Zodiacs) are available on board for shore excursions.
