Day 1: San Sebastián – Carranza

Meet in San Sebastián at noon. After a city tour, continue by bus to Bilbao, where the El Transcantábrico Gran Lujo is already waiting. Train ride to Carranza and dinner on board. (D)

Day 2: Carranza – Bilbao – Santander

Train ride to Bilbao, city tour, and a visit to the famous Guggenheim Museum. Onward journey to Santander. City tour and free time. After dinner, you are free to visit the Gran Casino de Santander on your own. (FMA)

Day 3: Santander – Potes – Cabezón de la Sal

During breakfast, enjoy the ride on the El Transcantábrico Gran Lujo to Cabezón de la Sal. The subsequent coach ride to Potes takes you through the impressive Desfiladero de la Hermida gorge. After exploring this small Cantabrian town, you can relax at the La Hermida spa. In the afternoon, travel to Comillas and visit Villa El Capricho, one of the few buildings designed by Antoni Gaudí outside of Barcelona. (FMA)

Day 4: Cabezón de la Sal – Santillana del Mar – Llanes

Tour of Santillana del Mar and a visit to the Altamira de Neocueva Museum. By lunchtime, you’ll be back on the train, which will take you to Asturias, where you’ll visit the picturesque fishing town of Llanes. (FMA)

Day 5: Llanes – Oviedo

Visit the Picos de Europa National Park with its picturesque highland lakes. Your next destination is the Santuario de Covadonga, an impressive sanctuary built inside a cave. In the afternoon, enjoy a city tour of Oviedo. (FMA)

Day 6: Oviedo – Luarca

You’ll start the day with a tour of the picturesque port city of Gijón. In the afternoon, your train will take you to Luarca, the White City on the Green Coast. (FMA)

Day 7: Luarca – Ribadeo – Viveiro

Train ride to Ribadeo. From there, take a bus along the coast of Lugo to Las Catedrales Beach. Panoramic city tour of Ribadeo and lunch. In the afternoon, continue by train to Vi veiro. City tour and free time. (FMA)

Day 8: Viveiro – Santiago de Compostela

While you enjoy breakfast on board, you’ll travel to Ferrol, from where you’ll take a bus to Santiago de Compostela. You’ll tour the historic center, which has been a destination for pilgrims for a thousand years. This is where your journey ends. The afternoon is yours to spend at your leisure. (B)
