The Seychelles at the best time to travel
Thanks to their location on the equator off the coast of East Africa, the Seychelles enjoy a warm tropical climate all year round with temperatures between 25 and 32°C. In March, each island shows its special side: the outer coral atolls such as Aldabra and Astove offer ideal conditions for divers. The calm sea is perfect for kayaking, and the low chance of rain makes shore excursions to remote islands particularly enjoyable. At this time of year , sea turtles, tropical fish, and numerous seabirds such as magnificent frigatebirds and tropicbirds are particularly active, making every excursion a unique nature experience.

itinerary
Advance information
Your arrival to and departure from Mahé are not included in your travel price.
Since our customers all have individual wishes for their trip, we are happy to book flights separately. Of course, the flights then become part of a secure package tour. We recommend an overnight stay in Mahé to cushion any irregularities with your flight or lost luggage. We are happy to organize everything for you on request. Please contact us.
Day 1: Embarkation at L’Escale Marina on Mahé
After a warm welcome on Mahé, the Aqua Lares welcomes you aboard. The superyacht will be your exclusive home for the coming days at sea. Take your time to get to know the experienced crew, settle into your spacious suite, and explore the ship's elegantly designed communal areas.
On the way to your first destination, you can enjoy spectacular panoramic views from the sun deck. Passing the picturesque islands of Sainte Anne National Marine Park, you can enjoy your first impressions of the Seychelles and take in their peaceful beauty to the fullest.
Day 2: African Banks & Remire Island
Today, you will wake up to the impressive sight of the remote African Banks – a destination that few Seychelles cruises ever visit. Unlike the mountainous islands of the first day, the African Banks are characterized by their flat coral sand islands and atolls. Enjoy the undisturbed tranquility of these pristine shores and refresh yourself with a swim in the crystal-clear waters, surrounded by the unspoiled nature of the Indian Ocean.
After lunch, the journey continues to Remire Island, a true paradise for birdwatchers. Amidst the lush coastal vegetation, you can observe seabirds and land birds, and with a little luck, you may also encounter the impressive giant tortoises that live here. The island also offers ideal conditions for diving, where you can experience the region's colorful underwater world up close. End the day relaxing with a sundowner on one of the island's white beaches as the sun bathes the ocean in a warm, golden light.
Day 3: At sea
As the superyacht Aqua Lares glides south toward Aldabra, you can spend the day however you wish—whether it's relaxing in the onboard spa, taking a dip in the Jacuzzi, or simply lounging on the sun deck. Out on the open sea, you'll also have the opportunity to watch majestic red-footed boobies gliding elegantly through the air as they hunt for flying fish.
Those who want to delve deeper into the secrets of the Seychelles can attend informative lectures by experienced nature guides and learn more about the region's unique geology, flora, and fauna. Culinary delights of the highest standard accompany you throughout the day, before you end the evening with an unforgettable view of the starry sky from the sun deck.
Day 4: Aldabra Atoll
Today, you will devote yourself entirely to the natural wonder of Aldabra Atoll, one of the most remote and best-protected ecosystems on Earth. This enormous coral atoll is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is considered a living museum of evolution. Its four large islands and extensive lagoon are home to an impressive variety of species.
Aldabra is particularly famous for its unique population of over 100,000 giant tortoises, which is the largest in the world. When you go ashore, you can observe these prehistoric-looking animals in their natural environment as they move leisurely through the barren landscape.
Aldabra also reveals its full splendor beneath the surface of the water: colorful schools of fish, sea turtles, elegant reef sharks, and graceful manta rays inhabit the crystal-clear waters. Every excursion—whether on foot, snorkeling, or by boat—reveals new facets of this unique natural paradise.
Day 5: Aldabra Atoll
Continue your exploration of Aldabra with guided walks along the coast, where you will encounter coconut crabs and frigate birds. Take the tender boats further into the lagoon and to the species-rich mangrove forests, which are home to many endemic plant species.
The atoll also offers excellent opportunities for snorkeling and diving amid colorful coral reefs with a diverse range of marine life.
Day 6: Cosmoledo Atoll & Astove Islands
The day begins with a tender boat ride through the lagoon of Cosmoledo Atoll, where you can observe rare seabirds such as masked boobies and brown frigatebirds.
In the afternoon, the route takes you to Astove, one of the best diving and snorkeling spots in the Indian Ocean. There you will find the legendary "Astove Wall." The steep wall, which is more than six kilometers long, is covered with soft corals and provides a habitat for rays, sharks, and numerous reef fish. Under ideal conditions, visibility can reach up to 40 meters.
Day 7: Farquhar Island
Today, Farquhar Atoll awaits you with its bright blue lagoons and an impressive variety of marine life. Numerous seabirds, including red-footed boobies, call this place home. Divers and snorkelers have the rare opportunity to explore virtually untouched coral reefs. Alternatively, you can spend the day actively fly fishing or kayaking.
Day 8: Alphonse Island
In the morning, the tender boat will take you to the idyllic Alphonse Island, where you can enjoy a walk through a dense coconut palm forest. Afterwards, you can explore the coastal waters with their hard corals and diverse underwater world while snorkeling. Those who prefer a more leisurely pace can enjoy the white sandy beach or, if conditions are right, take a relaxing kayak tour through the lagoon.
Day 9: Poivre & Desroches
At the start of the day, you will visit Poivre Atoll with its two main islands. The northern island is characterized by a coconut palm forest and is home to the ruins of an old distillery. With a little luck, you may spot migratory birds such as curlews and sandpipers here. The southern island is uninhabited and offers an undisturbed habitat for nature. In the lagoons , you will encounter sea turtles, young sharks, and stingrays.
In the afternoon, the Aqua Lares heads for Desroches Island. Giant tortoises live here, and the species-rich reefs are ideal for snorkeling.
Day 10: Disembarkation at L’Escale Marina in Mahé
Start the day with a hearty breakfast on board before saying goodbye to the Aqua Lares and its crew.
If you wish, you can extend your stay in Madagascar or along the east coast of Africa. Please feel free to contact us about possible extension options!

Snorkeling & Diving
Snorkeling is a wonderful way to experience the incredible biodiversity of the waters around the Seychelles up close. Many snorkeling spots in the archipelago are characterized by shallow, clear water that is frequented by tropical marine life. Similar to the land animals of the islands, the underwater inhabitants are not shy of humans – which makes every marine expedition a very special experience. Look forward to playful rays, colorful reef fish, and gentle sea turtles swimming harmoniously alongside you.
Each guest receives their own snorkeling equipment on board – consisting of a mask, snorkel, fins, and wetsuit – which is available for use throughout the trip. One of the best snorkeling spots in the Seychelles is Astove Wall, a spectacular underwater "Grand Canyon" with steep coral walls, colorful soft corals, and a variety of sharks, rays, and reef fish.
tender trips
The Aqua Lares is equipped with several comfortable tender boats, providing guests with the most convenient transportation between the yacht and the excursion destinations on the Seychelles Islands.
Tender trips are a relaxed yet impressive way to explore the islands. Guests can enjoy the sea breeze, admire the coastal landscapes, and gain their first insights into the wildlife of the Seychelles. Highlights of the tender trips include:
-
Cosmoledo Atoll: Discovery tour through remote lagoons in search of rare seabirds
-
Alphonse Island: Gentle trip through the lagoon with opportunities for snorkeling, observing sea turtles, and relaxed exploration of the coconut forests along the coast.
Kayaking & Stand-up Paddleboarding
The Seychelles offer perfect conditions for kayaking. The calm, clear waters are ideal for exploring the coastal landscapes and colorful marine life up close. Aqua Lares is equipped with high-quality double kayaks, allowing guests of all ages to discover the surroundings individually and at their own pace.
The main locations for kayaking adventures in the Seychelles include:
-
Alphonse Island: Kayaking through the tranquil lagoon brings you close to the shore, where you can observe sea turtles and admire the coconut forests along the beach.
-
Poivre Atoll: Paddling along pristine coastlines allows encounters with stingrays, juvenile sharks, and a variety of tropical fish.
Guided hikes
During some shore excursions, you will have the opportunity to venture deep into the wildlife habitats on guided hikes and experience the spectacular landscapes of the atolls up close. Your experienced guides will share their extensive knowledge of the local flora and fauna with you.
