This extraordinary ship expedition reveals the unspoiled beauty of the remote atolls and islands of the Seychelles. Aboard the luxurious superyacht Aqua Lares, you will follow a carefully planned route that few travelers have ever experienced so intensively.
From the famous Coco de Mer palms on Praslin to the world-renowned reefs of the Aldabra Atoll, this expedition takes you to places that can only be reached by small boat. Giant tortoises, pristine coral gardens, rare seabirds, and crystal-clear lagoons form the backdrop for daily shore excursions, guided snorkeling and diving trips, and explorations by tender boat or kayak.

The Seychelles at the best time to travel
Due to their location on the equator off the coast of East Africa, the Seychelles enjoy a warm, tropical climate all year round with temperatures between 25 and 32°C. During your trip in March, each island has its own charm: the Inner Islands delight with fresh greenery and lively bird activity, and there are ideal conditions for diving off the Outer Islands, such as the coral-rich atolls of Aldabra and the impressive dive walls of Astove. Kayaking is also a special pleasure on the calm sea. Many seabirds breed on the islands at this time, sea turtles and tropical fish are particularly active, and the very low probability of rain makes shore excursions on remote islands such as Aldabra or Cosmoledo particularly pleasant.

itinerary
Advance information
Your arrival in and departure from Mahé are not included in your travel price.
Since our customers all have individual wishes for their trip, we are happy to book flights separately. Of course, the flights then become part of a secure package tour. We recommend an overnight stay in Mahé to cushion any irregularities with your flight or lost luggage. We are happy to organize everything for you on request. Please contact us.
Day 1: Embarkation at L’Escale Marina (Mahé)
After your warm welcome in Mahé, you will board the Aqua Lares – your luxurious home for the upcoming journey. Get to know the crew, settle into your spacious suite, and discover the ship's stylish communal areas.
On the way to your first destination, you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views from the sun deck as the ship glides past the neighboring islands of Sainte Anne National Marine Park.
Day 2: African Banks & Remire
Today you wake up to the sight of the remote African Banks – a destination visited by very few Seychelles cruises. In contrast to the mountainous islands of the first day, the African Banks are flat coral sand islands and atolls. Experience the deep tranquility of the Seychelles on these pristine shores and refresh yourself with a swim in the crystal-clear waters.
After lunch, the route continues to Remire Island, where you can observe seabirds and land birds amid the coastal vegetation—and, with a little luck, giant tortoises. Remire also offers ideal conditions for diving to discover the region's fascinating underwater world up close. End the day with a sundowner on one of the island's white powder sugar beaches.
Day 3: At sea
While your superyacht sails south towards Aldabra during the day, treat yourself to some relaxation in the onboard spa or Jacuzzi. Out on the open sea, you may also have the chance to spot red-footed boobies gliding elegantly through the air as they hunt for flying fish.
If you wish, you can attend lectures given by experienced nature guides and learn more about the unique geology, flora, and fauna of the Seychelles. Enjoy culinary delights throughout the day and round off the evening with a view of the starry sky from the sun deck.
Day 4: Aldabra Atoll
Today you will spend the day exploring the spectacular Aldabra Atoll. This coral atoll is one of the most isolated ecosystems in the world. It is home to the largest population of giant tortoises in the world: over 100,000 of these impressive animals roam the four islands of the atoll. The surrounding waters are home to numerous tropical fish, sharks, sea turtles, and occasionally majestic manta rays.
Day 5: Aldabra Atoll
Continue your exploration of Aldabra with guided walks along the coast, accompanied by coconut crabs and frigate birds. Take the tender boats to discover the Aldabra lagoon and the species-rich mangrove forests with their large proportion of endemic flora.
The coral atoll also offers fantastic opportunities for snorkeling and diving.
Day 6: Cosmoledo Atoll & Astove Islands
The day begins with a tender boat ride through the lagoon of Cosmoledo Atoll to observe rare seabirds such as masked boobies and brown frigatebirds.
After lunch, we continue to Astove – one of the best snorkeling and diving areas in the Indian Ocean. The famous "Astove Wall, " often referred to as the "underwater Grand Canyon," is around four miles long, covered with soft corals and home to rays, sharks, and colorful reef fish. Visibility can be up to 40 meters.
Day 7: Farquhar Island
Today, discover the bright blue waters of Farquhar Atoll with its rich marine life and numerous seabirds, including red-footed boobies. Snorkelers and divers enjoy the rare opportunity to explore pristine coral reefs here. Alternatively, fly fishing and kayaking are also available.
Day 8: Alphonse Island
In the morning, you will travel by tender boat to picturesque Alphonse Island. There, you will take a walk through a lush coconut palm forest. Later, you will go snorkeling along the coast with its impressive hard coral formations and rich marine fauna. Relax on the white sandy beach or, if conditions are good, enjoy a peaceful kayak tour in the lagoon.
Day 9: Poivre & Desroches
In the morning, you will visit Poivre Atoll with its two main islands: the northern island is covered with a coconut palm forest and is home to the ruins of an old distillery. Migratory birds such as curlews and pipits can occasionally be spotted here. The southern island is completely uninhabited and a nature reserve. Sea turtles, young sharks, and stingrays frolic in the lagoons.
In the afternoon, the Aqua Lares sets course for Desroches Island, home to giant tortoises. There is also an opportunity to snorkel on the species-rich reef.
Day 10: L’Escale Marina (Mahé) & Beau Vallon Bay
Today in Mahé, the ship will first be provisioned for the next leg of the journey. Meanwhile, you can enjoy a relaxing day aboard the Aqua Lares: work out outdoors, relax in the whirlpool, or treat yourself to a spa treatment. In the afternoon, the Aqua Lares will continue its journey to Beau Vallon Bay.
Day 11: Cousin & Praslin
The day begins with a view of Cousin Island, a protected area designated as a "Special Nature Reserve." Among other species, Seychelles flycatchers and moorhenslive here, along with colonies of hawksbill turtles, giant tortoises, and numerous endemic species. On a guided hike, you will encounter a bird population of over 250,000.
After lunch, we continue to Praslin, the second-largest granite island in the Seychelles. There you will have the opportunity to visit the ancient palm forest Vallée de Mai.
Day 12: Curieuse & La Digue
In the morning, we reach Curieuse Island, a national marine park off the northwest coast of Praslin. A guided hike takes us through the mangrove forest with its famous coco de mer palms and giant tortoises. Afterwards, a snorkeling trip to the colorful reefs beckons.
In the afternoon, you will arrive at La Digue, an island steeped in tradition and history. Discover beautiful beaches, L'Union Estate with its coconut distillery, an art gallery, and a museum.
Day 13: Grande Soeur & Cocos Island
In the morning, you will reach Grande Soeur, famous for deep-sea diving and snorkeling on granite-lined reefs with reef sharks, parrotfish, and sea turtles. The east coast is characterized by imposing granite boulders and crystal-clear water, while the interior of the island is home to giant tortoises, pond rails, and the rare Mahé spectacled bird.
In the afternoon, we continue to Cocos Island. The marine park is home to some of the best snorkeling spots in the Seychelles, colorful coral gardens, and schools of tropical fish.
Day 14: Aride
Today, an exciting landing on the beach of Aride, the northernmost island of the Seychelles, is on the agenda. Asa Special Ornithological Nature Reserve, Aride is home to one of the largest seabird populations in the Indian Ocean, including the white-tailed tropicbird. On a walk through the forest, you will also discover rare endemic plants such as Wright's gardenia, which is only found here.
Day 14: Disembarkation at L’Escale Marina (Mahé)
Enjoy a hearty breakfast on board before saying goodbye to the Aqua Lares and its crew.
We would understand if you would like to extend your stay in Madagascar or on the east coast of Africa. If you are interested, please contact us about extension options!
PLEASE NOTE: The daily programs described here are for your guidance only. The itinerary may vary due to local weather conditions, last-minute permit procedures, and organizational requirements. The expedition leader on board will determine the final itinerary and daily program. Flexibility is of utmost importance during our expedition-style voyages.

Snorkeling & Diving
Snorkeling is a wonderful way to experience the incredible biodiversity of the waters around the Seychelles up close. Many snorkeling spots in the archipelago are characterized by shallow, clear water that is frequented by tropical marine life. Similar to the land animals of the islands, the underwater inhabitants are not shy of humans – which makes every marine expedition a very special experience. Look forward to playful rays, colorful reef fish, and gentle sea turtles swimming harmoniously alongside you.
Each guest receives their own snorkeling equipment on board—consisting of a mask, snorkel, fins, and wetsuit—which is available for use throughout the trip. Some of the best snorkeling spots in the Seychelles include:
-
Astove Wall: A spectacular underwater "Grand Canyon" with steep coral walls, colorful soft corals, and a variety of sharks, rays, and reef fish.
-
Cocos Island: An idyllic marine paradise with crystal-clear bays and vibrant coral gardens, home to tropical fish and sea turtles.
-
Grande Soeur: Known for its granite reefs, where you can observe reef fish, sharks, and turtles amidst impressive underwater landscapes.
In addition, on this superyacht expedition between the Seychelles islands, you will have the opportunity to dive and snorkel with experienced guides.
tender trips
The Aqua Lares is equipped with several comfortable tender boats, providing guests with the most convenient transportation between the yacht and the excursion destinations on the Seychelles Islands.
Tender trips are a relaxed yet impressive way to explore the islands. Guests can enjoy the sea breeze, admire the coastal landscapes, and gain their first insights into the wildlife of the Seychelles. Highlights of the tender trips include:
-
Cosmoledo Atoll: Discovery tour through remote lagoons in search of rare seabirds
-
Alphonse Island: Gentle trip through the lagoon with opportunities for snorkeling, observing sea turtles, and relaxed exploration of the coconut forests along the coast.
Kayaking & Stand-up Paddleboarding
The Seychelles offer perfect conditions for kayaking. The calm, clear waters are ideal for exploring the coastal landscapes and colorful marine life up close. Aqua Lares is equipped with high-quality double kayaks, allowing guests of all ages to discover the surroundings individually and at their own pace.
The main locations for kayaking adventures in the Seychelles are:
-
Alphonse Island: Kayaking through the tranquil lagoon brings you close to the shore, where you can observe sea turtles and admire the coconut forests along the beach.
-
Poivre Atoll: Paddling along pristine coastlines allows encounters with stingrays, juvenile sharks, and a variety of tropical fish.
-
Ile Cocos: Explore the fascinating coral gardens by kayak and enjoy breathtaking views of the crystal-clear waters and lush vegetation of the island.
Guided hikes
During some shore excursions, you will have the opportunity to venture deep into the wildlife habitats on guided hikes and experience the spectacular landscapes of the atolls up close. Your experienced guides will share their extensive knowledge of the local flora and fauna with you.
