Aboard the Le Paul Gauguin, you will embark on an unforgettable journey through nature and culture amid the diverse and lush landscapes of the magnificent islands and atolls of French Polynesia, the Cook Islands, Tonga, and Fiji.
Experience the fascination of the Society Islands in French Polynesia: the turquoise waters of Motu Mahana, a private retreat scented with vanilla, the magnificent lagoon of Bora Bora (the silhouette of the volcano can be seen from afar), the pineapple plantations, and the green rock formations of Moorea.
You continue on to the Cook Islands and the deep blue lagoon of Aitutaki.
Le Paul Gauguin then heads for the Kingdom of Tonga. Vava'u consists of around thirty paradise islands and is an idyllic and unspoiled destination. Here you can expect the wonders of the seabed, sun-kissed beaches with coconut palms, and local arts and crafts.

Arrival and departure:We offer a variety of customized travel packages including flights, hotels, transfers, and activities. We are also happy to suggest pre- and post-programs to extend your trip.
Best time to visit: All year round, but the driest time is during our summer months.
Entry requirements: A passport (valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of return) is sufficient for entry into Tahiti and departure from Fiji.

Day 1: Papeete, Tahiti – Embarkation from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., departure at 9:00 p.m.
Tahiti, the largest of the 118 islands of French Polynesia, and its capital Papeete are the ideal starting (or ending) point for your journey through the South Pacific. The Gauguin lies patiently anchored in the harbor, directly opposite a lively, colorful market, and in the evening, roulottes (food trucks) fill the nearby square with tempting aromas and delicious local specialties.
Day 2: Moorea
Welcome to Moorea – an island full of color and life. Here you will find turquoise lagoons, juicy fresh tropical fruits, majestic mountain peaks, and beaches lined with palm trees. Those who want to experience nature up close can take part in an optional dolphin watching excursion with an experienced marine biologist. Afterwards, there will be time to get to know the friendly islanders and take a piece of Moorea home with you as you browse handmade artwork.
Day 3: Motu Mahana, Taha'a, Society Islands
Exciting shore excursions await you, as does Motu Mahana, Paul Gauguin Cruises' private islet. Choose between swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, or simply relaxing on the beach with a cool drink from our floating bar. Les Gauguines also provide musical entertainment and showcase Polynesian arts and crafts.
Days 4 & 5: Bora Bora, Society Islands
The paradise atoll of Bora Bora, part of the Windward Islands archipelago in western French Polynesia, offers you the spectacle of enchanting nature. Its white sandy beaches and famous lagoon, one of the most beautiful in the world, where colorful fish frolic in incomparable turquoise waters, are truly unique. The island is covered with tropical vegetation and dominated by the majestic silhouette of Mount Otemanu. On a walk through the volcanic landscape, you can discover several villages and get to know the local population.
Day 6: At sea
While at sea, there are numerous leisure activities available on board. Relax in the spa or keep fit in the gym.
Day 7: Aitutaki
The 16 km² island of Aitutaki has a small fishing port with a few motorboats. Life here is still simple and tranquil.
During your stay, take a walk along the shores of the magnificent lagoon, considered one of the most beautiful and spectacular in the world. Snorkeling enthusiasts can discover the treasures of the underwater world. The island specializes in the trade of black pearls and the production of colorful pareos and patchwork, called "Tivaevae," such as blankets. This local production is very valuable due to its careful workmanship and is generally given as a gift on special occasions.
Day 8: At sea
During the voyage, there are numerous leisure activities available on board. Relax in the spa or keep fit in the gym. Depending on the season, you can also take a dip in the pool or sunbathe.

Day 9: Crossing theInternational Date Line
During the voyage, you will cross the famous International Date Line. This imaginary line on the Earth's surface runs through the Pacific Ocean near the 180th meridian. The Earth is round, and because of the need to have a reference meridian, the date must be changed when this line is crossed.
If you are traveling westward by ship, you must add one day to the expected date, and conversely, if you are traveling eastward, you must subtract one day. This paradox, already observed by Magellan's crews during their circumnavigation of the globe, has been used several times as a driving force in novels, such as Jules Verne's famous Around the World in 80 Days.

Day 11: Vava'u
The beautiful Vava'u archipelago in the Kingdom of Tonga consists of more than forty paradise coral islands surrounded by the turquoise waters of the South Pacific.
Mount Talau, towering above the main island, offers a magnificent panoramic view of the archipelago. Beneath the surface of the water off the coast of these dream islands, lined with long, fine sandy beaches, there is an abundance of coral reefs, gorgonian gardens, and underwater caves.
The island's lush vegetation will delight amateur botanists. Traditional local expertise reveals the full richness of this priceless natural heritage: weaving the legendary pandan leaves, producing noni juice, known for its medicinal properties, and extracting vanilla essence.
Day 12: At sea

Day 13: Savusavu, Vanua Levu Island
Vanua Levu Islandis located about 60 kilometers south of Viti Levu. It is less visited than its neighbor and is the second largest island in the Fiji archipelago.
From Savuasvu, you will discover the many treasures of this lush mountain island. The scent and intense colors of the tropical rainforest, punctuated by wonderfully refreshing waterfalls, will enchant you.
The hospitality of the people of Fiji will leave a lasting impression. Local traditions include the famous kava ceremony, where the drink is made from a plant related to the pepper tree and served in half a coconut.
An absolute highlight for snorkeling enthusiasts are the beautiful seabeds, which are known for their excellent visibility.
Day 14: Suva, Viti Levu Island
The largest of the Fiji Islands, Viti Levu, is home to numerous natural and cultural treasures. The island is dominated by Mount Tomanivi and is covered in dense, lush tropical rainforest in the south and extensive sugar cane plantations in the north.
The historic heritage of the archipelago is preserved in Fiji's modern and dynamic capital, Suva. The Fiji Museum of Ethnology in Thurston Gardens displays wonderful collections of archaeological objects documenting human activity dating back more than 3,000 years. Whether under the dizzying green canopy or beneath the turquoise waves of Beqa Lagoon, discovering the natural treasures of Viti Levu will create lasting memories.
Day 15: Beqa Island
Afew kilometers from Viti Levu lies the small, remote mountain island of Beqa (pronounced "Benga"), which offers a concentration of the cultural and natural treasures of the Fiji archipelago.
The inhabitants continue an impressive ancient tradition: fire walking, also known as Vilavilairevo. During demonstrations, they offer visitors the opportunity to participate in ceremonies in which men walk barefoot over glowing pieces of charcoal while wearing special costumes. It is said that they have the power to heal burns.
The coral reef very close to the beach offers unforgettable snorkeling experiences. The magnificent seabed off the coast is home to numerous species of sharks in particular.
Day 16: Lautoka, Viti Levu Island
Lautoka is Fiji's second largest city and is located on the west coast of Viti Levu Island. It is also known as the "sugar city" because it lies at the heart of sugar cane cultivation. Lautoka is the gateway to Fiji's coast, where the sun shines in the ever-blue sky. Rugged, green peaks alternate with sugar cane fields, between which are rural villages with picturesque markets.

Free snorkeling equipment is available on board, but we recommend that you pack the following:

Formalities:
- Your passport must be valid for at least six months after the end of your trip and contain at least two blank pages for each visa required. Pages that are stained or stamped with stamps from previously used pages are not acceptable. Travelers who deviate from the planned ports of embarkation and disembarkation should inform themselves about the entry requirements of the respective country. If you do not have the necessary identification documents, the organizer is required by law to refuse you boarding and you will not be entitled to a refund of the cruise price.

Passengers may participate in diving activities if certain conditions are met that comply with the health, scientific, and medical conditions applicable on the day of the dive.
To participate in the dives, guests must bring a medical certificate that is no more than 1 year old and a current logbook.
- Important note on the use of drones: The use of drones is strictly prohibited on board, both during the voyage and in ports or at moorings. In the Arctic and Antarctic, the use of drones is also strictly prohibited on land by international polar regulations. In other regions, the use of drones is subject to obtaining a permit from the competent authorities of the individual countries and areas crossed, as well as the possession of a drone license, which the user must obtain in their country of origin. Passengers are responsible for obtaining these permits. The permits must be available for inspection at any time. Passengers who violate this permit requirement are liable to prosecution.
