One of the most remote, picturesque, and wildlife-rich regions on Earth awaits you: the vast Weddell Sea, discovered in 1823 by James Weddell.
You will explore the South Sandwich Islands, Neuschwabenland, which was annexed by the German Reich during the Third German Antarctic Expedition (1938–1939), and follow in the footsteps of the great Antarctic explorer and hero Ernest Shackleton.
You have the best chance of seeing Weddell and crabeater seals, leopard seals, and even emperor penguins. Humpback whales, minke whales, and orcas are also frequently seen here.
