The grand "Highlights of Antarctica" voyage combines all the classic itineraries through Antarctica and marks a huge milestone in your personal life: crossing the Antarctic Circle at 66° 33′ 55″ south latitude. You will explore the South Sandwich Islands, Neuschwabenland, which was annexed by the German Reich during the Third German Antarctic Expedition (1938–1939), and follow in the footsteps of the great Antarctic explorer and hero Ernest Shackleton.


You have the best chance of seeing Weddell and crabeater seals, leopard seals, and even emperor penguins. Humpback whales, minke whales, and orcas are also frequently seen here. You will cross the Antarctic Circle and reach the pack ice boundary. Your base is the technologically advanced MS Janssonius.
