Your arrival and departure from/to Quito are not included in your travel price.
Since our customers all have individual wishes for their trip, we are happy to book flights separately. Of course, the flights then become part of a secure package tour. We recommend an overnight stay in Quito to cushion any irregularities with your flight or lost luggage. We are happy to organize everything for you on request. Please contact us.
Your ship's route: On day 1, you will travel downstream from Providencia to the Peruvian border. Over the following days, your ship will navigate upstream with the stops, activities, and shore excursions described below until you return to Providencia on day 8.
Day 1: Flight from Quito to Coca & embarkation
From Quito, it's a 30-minute flight to Coca, followed by a 90-minute motorboat ride to the MS Anakonda, which is waiting for you in Providencia . After boarding, your local guides will welcome you and give you an initial introduction to the Amazon region.
Afterwards, you will have time to explore your comfortable expedition ship with its spacious communal areas and observation deck, while the rainforest landscape on both sides of the Napo River passes by. After dinner, you can take part in an optional night walk and, with a little luck, spot the first wild animals of the jungle. You will be surrounded by the unique sounds of the forest.
Day 2: Pañayacu River Delta & Lake Pañacocha
Today, the journey continues downstream to the Pañayacu River delta, a true natural paradise. A boat trip across Lake Pañacocha – the "Piranha Lake" – reveals a mysterious blackwater ecosystem: dense rainforests, 500 exotic bird species and nine species of monkey, white caimans, piranhas, and paiches, one of the largest freshwater fish in the world.
Your guides will accompany you on walks through the rainforest before you refuel at a campsite with Amazonian barbecue specialties and refreshing drinks. After lunch, it's time to hop in a kayak. If you like, you can swim in the clear waters of Piranha Lake —a refreshing experience with a certain thrill factor.
Back on board, an exciting lecture and a documentary film deepen your understanding of this unique region.
Day 3: Parrot clay lick & visit to the Quichua people
The morning begins with a canoe trip to the parrot clay licks, one of the most spectacular natural spectacles in the western Amazon. Hundreds of colorful parrots, parakeets, and Amazonian birds gather here every day to visit the mineral-rich clay licks.
In the afternoon, a visit to a Quichua cultural center is on the agenda. Here you can experience life along the Napo River up close: you will gain authentic insights into the traditions, culinary arts, and craftsmanship of the indigenous community. At the same time, you will have the opportunity to support the village community by purchasing handicrafts and local products.
Day 4: Indillama & Napo River in the northern part of Yasuni Park
The day begins with a kayak tour on the Indillama River, a tributary of the Napo, which takes you deep into Yasuní National Park. The kayaks glide silently through the water – perfect for observing monkeys, birds, and other wildlife in their natural habitat. Alternatively, you can go on a discovery tour by motorized canoe – the choice is yours. Surrounded by lush greenery, every moment becomes an intense experience of nature.
After an eventful day, the viewing deck offers the perfect opportunity to relax at sunset and later under the starry sky. Those who want to venture back into the rainforest can end the day with a night hike through the jungle and, with a little luck, spot some nocturnal animals.
Day 5: Pink river dolphins in Yasuni National Park & visit to a Secoya community
After a hearty breakfast, take a motorized canoe to a large river island where you can observe eagles, hornbills, woodpeckers, and many other bird species—a true paradise for nature lovers.
Return to the Anakonda for lunch. Relax inthe hot tub, enjoy a cocktail at the bar, or take in the passing rainforest landscapes from the observation deck.
In the afternoon, you will visit Yasuní National Park, one of the most untouched areas of the Ecuadorian Amazon. Here you can spot pink river dolphins, anacondas, river turtles, various species of monkeys, and the colorful hoatzin – the "stinking turkey." The Secoya, an indigenous minority, live nearby. A visit to their village provides exciting insights into their traditions and way of life.
Day 6: Visit to a Quichua family & time on board
The day begins with a visit to a Quichua family on the banks of the Napo River. Here you can experience the everyday life of this indigenous community up close for a few hours.
Back on board the Anakonda, you will have free time to relax or take a cooking class with the chef, who will share traditional Ecuadorian recipes with you – ideal for recreating at home.
After lunch, you can try your hand at traditional crafts or listen to a lecture on indigenous cultures. Or would you prefer to explore the surroundings on a kayak tour? For those who want to immerse themselves even more deeply in nature, an optional glamping experience is also available.
Day 7: Rainforest hike & kayaking tour
After a relaxing morning on board, you will set off for a viewing tower in the rainforest. Its platform offers a breathtaking 360-degree view over the treetops and the seemingly endless Amazon basin – the perfect moment for spectacular photos. Passionate birdwatchers will also get their money's worth here.
In the afternoon, take a walk through the forest, where you can discover numerous animal and plant species that are native to the Amazon region. Alternatively, you can explore the area by kayak.
To round off the day, enjoy a farewell dinner where you can look back on the experiences of the trip together.
Day 8: Farewell to the ship & return trip to Coca
After your last few hours aboard the MS Anakonda, you will say "Adios" to the ship in Providencia and travel the last stretch back to Coca in a motorized canoe, which takes about an hour and a half. From there, you will head to the airport, where you will board your flight to Quito.

Glamping on the Amazon – luxury meets nature
Immerse yourself in the untouched wilderness of the Amazon – without sacrificing comfort. The optional glamping experience combines adventure and luxury in a unique way: you will spend the night in cozy tents in the middle of the rainforest, sleep on comfortable camp beds, and enjoy the services of an experienced top chef right on site.
In the evening, a festively decorated table awaits you under the open sky. Indulge in exquisite dishes and fine champagne while the jungle around you comes to life. The sounds of birds, the rustling of leaves, and the distant melodies of wild animals create an atmosphere you will not soon forget.
At night, you can retreat to your tent or relax and unwind in a cozy second tent. The team is always there for you, so you can focus entirely on nature and the peace and quiet around you.
In the morning, you will be greeted by the first rays of sunshine and the lively singing of birds. Start the day with a kayak tour on the hidden rivers of the Amazon and let the untamed beauty of the rainforest work its magic on you. After a delicious breakfast, you will return to the Anakonda – with memories that will stay with you for a lifetime.
