OR: 6-day (5-night) Antarctic expedition from Punta Arenas to Ushuaia, including the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula, with charter flight.
Are you ready to explore the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula? On this Antarctic expedition, you can explore and experience the White Continent both from the ship and from the air. The journey to the Antarctic Peninsula is made by expedition ship. Cross the famous Drake Passage and cruise straight towards the Antarctic Peninsula.
Observe wildlife from the lounge or outdoor decks accompanied by experienced guides. You can see seabirds such as albatrosses and petrels, as well as various species of whaleson their way south to Antarctica.
On Zodiac excursions, you will search for penguins, whales, and bizarre ice formations. Adorable seals and penguins frolic in the remote bays and beaches you will visit. Gigantic snow-capped peaks tower in the background. You will not soon forget these landscapes. You can also look forward to the midnight sun with its almost constant sunlight.
The return trip to Chile is by plane from King George Island. You will fly over Cape Horn and the Drake Passage, which you will now be familiar with from the water. Your Antarctic expedition ends with another breathtaking aerial view on the included charter flight between King George Island and Punta Arenas in Chile.

Weather permitting, you will board a Zodiac and be one of the few privileged adventurers to set foot on this famous and rarely visited island. Back on board, you will cruise towards Antarctica and cross the famous passage named in honor of Sir Francis Drake, the great 16th-century British explorer.
Day 3: Drake Passage
As you sail through the Drake Passageen route to King George Island in the South Shetland Islands, you will participate in an interesting program of lectures and presentations.
