Day 1: From London to the North
You’ll board the train today at London’s Victoria Station. Life aboard the Britannic Explorer is a true delight, beginning with afternoon tea. In the evening, you’ll gather for your first festive dinner. After the meal, the observation car is at your disposal to dance the night away and enjoy a gin and tonic or two. (A)
Day 2: Yorkshire Dales
Today you’ll wake up to picturesque views of the Forest of Bowland and the enchanting Yorkshire Dales National Park. Let your gaze wander over the Irish Sea as your train rolls along Cumbria’s southern coast. In the early afternoon, the train arrives in Workington—the gateway to the Lake District. Here, a chauffeur will be waiting to take you to Lingholm Estate, where Beatrix Potter, the beloved author of the Peter Rabbit stories, once spent her summers. Here, the private quarters are opened exclusively for travelers on the Britannic Explorer. You can also explore Lake Derwentwater by canoe or paddleboard, visit adorable alpacas, or take part in traditional English lawn games. Your train awaits you in Penrith with tables set for dinner and is now rolling along the picturesque Settle–Carlisle Line through the village of Appleby. (FMA)
Day 3: Settle–Carlisle Line
Today, a leisurely brunch with a delicious Bellini awaits you. Enjoy this peaceful start to the day—perhaps with a game of cards with new friends—as your train rolls over the Ribblehead Viaduct on the Settle–Carlisle Line. Later, visit Simon Rogan’s farm in the Cartmel Valley, where a tour and a unique culinary experience await you. Once back on the train, spend your final night on board in the picturesque Cotswolds. Day 4: Return to London
Your breakfast will be served today as the train rolls through Oxfordshire and the Chilterns toward London's Victoria Station, where your journey ends. (B)
