OFF TO THE SMALLEST ISLAND IN LAPLAND

from/to Luleå

4 days (3 nights)

English-speaking
Leave the stress and hustle and bustle of everyday life behind and experience Sweden in an authentic way—in a special accommodation. The Summer Glamping & Floating Lodge is an exclusive retreat in the middle of forests. Your lodge, a platform with a wooden hut, teepees, and sauna, floats on a lake. Feel the gentle movements of the water and let yourself drift away.
Here you can swim, paddle, fish, enjoy cozy barbecue evenings by the fire, and then drift off into dreamland. And all this in complete privacy with friends or family. The lodge can be rented exclusively and is the perfect place to enjoy the Swedish summer.
From early June to mid-July, you can enjoy 24 hours of sunlight at the Floating Lodge thanks to the midnight sun. During berry season from mid-July to August, every walk in the surrounding forest is worthwhile, and at the end of August, the Northern Lights usually return.

Time out in Swedish
Day 1 | Flight to Luleå & check-in at the lodge
Upon arrival at Luleå Airport, you will be picked up by your guide. The one-hour drive takes you through forests and the natural landscape of the Råne Valley. For the last part of your journey, you will be given life jackets, as you will be traveling by boat to the floating lodge. Welcome drinks await you on the deck of your private island.
Depending on your arrival time, you can jump into the water and try out the water sports equipment such as canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards, or one of the other activities. Your hosts will be happy to accompany you on an excursion or show you the way if you prefer to explore the area on your own. For some relaxation after your trip, enjoy the sauna with a view of the lake.
When evening comes, you will first be served an aperitif in the sun, followed by a summer menu from the grill. All dishes are prepared mainly from regional and seasonal products and according to northern Swedish traditions. Spend a cozy evening by the fire, even if it stays light for a very long time. Afterwards, you can look forward to a peaceful night on the water.
The new day at your floating lodge begins with a hearty breakfast to fortify you for the day ahead. Afterwards, you will spend the morning exploring the Råne Valley with your canoe guide. Enjoy the four-hour paddle through the calm waters and impressive landscape. There will be a stop on the shore for lunch.
Back at the floating lodge, a fika (coffee and cake break) awaits you in the sun. In the afternoon, relax in the sauna and refresh yourself with a dip in the lake. The Arctic waters are ideal for swimming in summer, reaching temperatures of 18-25°C.
A culinary experience for all the senses rounds off the day. At the "eight seasons of Lapland" dinner, you can sample the diverse regional products of northern Sweden. Stories and songs tell you more about the eight seasons.
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up and take you on a day trip to Europe's largest waterfall. It is a popular hiking destination for the locals from Norrbotten, as the summers at Storforsen are particularly beautiful. The nature reserve offers countless hiking trails around the waterfall.
Listen to the sound of rushing water and enjoy the view, as well as a light picnic in the sun. Back at the Floating Lodge, an aperitif and dinner invite you to enjoy a relaxing evening under the open sky.
After breakfast, check out and spend your last morning learning more about the secrets of the northern forests on a Foraging Flavour Walk. On this four-hour tour through the forest, an experienced guide will show you the native flora. You will learn which plants have a special flavor, are rich in nutrients, or even have healing properties. You can sample some of them right away during lunch in the forest.
Grounded and armed with new knowledge about the local flora, your guide will then take you to Luleå Airport. The program ends at approximately 2:00 p.m. Therefore, please book your return flight for 6:00 p.m. at the earliest.
