Day 1 Flight across the Atlantic

You'll fly from Frankfurt to Toronto, where your tour guide will greet you and escort you to your centrally located, comfortable hotel, where you'll stay for three nights.

Day 2: A City on Lake Ontario

A city tour will show you Toronto’s contrasts between glittering skyscrapers and historic grand buildings. On your free afternoon, take a stroll along the shores of Lake Ontario, where numerous cafés invite you to linger and warm up. Later, enjoy the breathtaking view of the metropolis and the frozen Lake Ontario from the observation deck of the CN Tower, followed by a welcome dinner at the famous The 360 restaurant, 351 m above the ground! Day 3: At Niagara Falls

Today, a day trip takes you to a magnificent natural spectacle that is even more impressive in winter: With a thunderous roar, the Niagara River plunges over the nearly 1,000 m wide and 55 m deep rocky ledge. In the afternoon, you’ll drive along the picturesque Niagara Parkway to the small town of Niagara-on-the-Lake with its Victorian cottages. (FM)

Day 4: On the Train Through a Winter Wonderland

Your exciting train journey on The Canadian begins at Union Station in Toronto. Ontario’s snow-covered lakes and forests will pass by as you travel. Sit back, relax, and let yourself be pampered in the dining car! Elevated viewing areas in the panoramic car, which is encased in a glass dome, offer you a magnificent panoramic view. Tonight, you’ll spend the night aboard the train. (FMA)

Day 5 From Ontario to Manitoba

As you travel from the province of Ontario to Manitoba, the landscape changes throughout the day. Lakes and forests give way to the vast, snow-covered prairie. In the evening, you’ll arrive in Winnipeg, Manitoba’s lively capital. Here, you’ll spend the night in a comfortable hotel. (FM)

Day 6: On the Hudson Bay Express

In the morning, you’ll set off for the magnificent train station, where the Hudson Bay Express is already waiting for you. Your 1,700-kilometer journey northward across the vast province of Manitoba begins. Shortly after leaving Winnipeg, you’ll be enveloped by the vast solitude of the Canadian prairie, which later gives way to the lakes and boreal forests of the north. You’ll spend the next two nights aboard the train. (FMA)

Day 7: Fifty Shades of White

Today, your train rolls through the white winter wonderland; with a little luck, you might even spot some moose. There are no roads here anymore, just the tracks on which you’re traveling. The journey takes you out of dense forests and into the endless tundra of the Canadian Arctic. During a longer stop, you’ll stretch your legs in the small town of Thompson, the gateway to the North, founded thanks to rich ore and nickel deposits. As you continue your journey on the Hudson Bay Express, your tour guide’s onboard presentations will keep you entertained. (FMA)

Day 8: Aurora Borealis

The sea is in sight! In the morning, your train journey north ends at the vast Hudson Bay in Churchill, the polar bear capital of the world. An introductory tour of Churchill offers fascinating insights into the past and present of this northern outpost. If you’d like, you can take part in a photography workshop today to capture the Northern Lights as spectacularly as possible. After dinner, you’ll ride in a tundra buggy to the cozy Thanadelthur Lounge. In the midst of the endless tundra, you’ll experience a light show from Mother Nature on the observation deck that you’ll never forget: Curtain up for the Aurora Borealis! (FMA)

Day 9: Through a Winter Wonderland with Huskies

Have you ever felt like a Nuk? Today, you’ll explore the glittering winter landscape by dog sled—an unforgettable experience and certainly a highlight of your polar journey. Afterward, you’ll take a journey back in time to the world of the fur traders at the Parks Canada Visitor Center. Following dinner at a restaurant in Churchill, you’ll drive to a clearing in the middle of the boreal forest to once again experience the magic of the Northern Lights. Surrounded by the peaceful silence of the northern wilderness, you’ll sit in a cozy outdoor area with an unobstructed view of the night sky. (FA)

Day 10: At Hudson Bay

You’ll ride the Tundra Buggy out of Churchill along the coast. On a guided snowshoe hike, you’ll explore the snow-covered forests along the frozen Hudson Bay. Afterward, you’ll visit the Itsanitaq Museum, where you can admire Inuit crafts from ancient times to the present day. In the evening, you’ll head back out onto the Churchill River in the Tundra Buggy. On the secluded, snow-covered shore, one of the most extraordinary restaurants on earth awaits you: Dan’s Diner. This evening is a feast for all the senses: enjoy local specialties and gaze through the panoramic windows for a perfect view of the aurora borealis spectacle in the sky. (FMA)

Day 11: Farewell to the Capital of the Northern Lights

In the morning, you’ll visit the Polar Bear International House to learn about the latest research on polar bears and climate change. In the afternoon, you’ll travel to the airport and fly back from Hudson Bay to Winnipeg. You’ll spend the night at a comfortable hotel. (B)

Day 12: Winnipeg

Winnipeg, Manitoba’s provincial capital, captivates visitors with its lively charm and the open-minded nature of its approximately 780,000 residents. Diverse neighborhoods offer an exciting mix of architecture, shopping, cultural attractions, and, last but not least, culinary surprises. During today’s city tour, you’ll also visit Assiniboine Park. Here, you’ll observe polar bears from a completely different perspective—from below! The Forks neighborhood is a trendy gathering spot in the city, featuring renovated warehouses, market stalls, cafés, and street performers. Over an atmospheric dinner, you’ll reflect on the adventures of an extraordinary polar journey. (FA)

Day 13: Bye-bye, Canada!

Today you'll have some time left for last-minute shopping before heading to the Winnipeg airport. (F)
