Day 1 Flight across the Atlantic

Today you'll fly to Calgary! Here, at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, your tour guide will welcome you and escort you to your deluxe hotel in Banff. (If you booked without flights, your trip begins on Day 2.)

Day 2 Banff and Yoho National Parks

Today’s day trip takes you to the idyllic mountain lakes of Banff and Yoho National Parks. You’ll visit the famous Lake Louise, with the Victoria Glacier towering behind it, as well as the lesser-known but no less attractive Moraine Lake and Emerald Lake. With a little luck, you’ll be able to spot wildlife and marvel at the roaring spray of the Takakkaw Falls. (B)

Day 3: On the train through the Rocky Mountains

Today, you’ll cross the Rocky Mountains aboard the famous Rocky Mountaineer. As you enjoy a meal in the comfort of your seat, you’ll be treated to spectacular views of the Kicking Horse and Roger Passes—which the train will traverse—as well as the scenic landscape of Shushwap Lake. In the late afternoon, you’ll arrive at your excellent mid-range hotel in Kamloops. (FM)

Day 4 Along the Fraser River with the Rocky Mountaineer

Today, aboard the Rocky Mountaineer, you’ll travel along the Thompson and Fraser Rivers through stunning canyons with names that sound almost as impressive as they look, such as Rainbow Canyon and Hell’s Gate. In the late afternoon, your train will arrive in Vancouver, the West Coast metropolis regularly named one of the world’s most livable cities, where you’ll stay for two nights at your centrally located, comfortable hotel. Day 5 Vancouver: Nature and Architecture

On a bus tour, you’ll get to know this city, renowned for its high quality of life. A scenic drive takes you to Stanley Park, where a magnificent panoramic view of downtown Vancouver’s glass-and-steel skyline awaits you. You’ll stroll past the totem poles displayed in the park, which offer fascinating insights into the culture of the indigenous peoples of the Pacific Coast. Afterward, you’ll visit the breathtaking Capilano Suspension Bridge and take the gondola up Grouse Mountain, Vancouver’s local mountain, which offers a 360-degree view of the peninsula and the surrounding inlets. Back in the city, you’ll have some free time before enjoying dinner at the Harbour View Tower, where you’ll see this modern city from a completely different perspective. (FA)

Day 6 Welcome aboard!

Take advantage of your hotel’s central location to take a stroll through Gastown, Vancouver’s historic district, with its lovingly restored Victorian-era buildings. This neighborhood of brick houses in the former port area is now a vibrant entertainment district featuring restaurants, bars, art galleries, numerous boutiques, and the Steam Clock—a steam-powered clock that’s a very popular photo spot. In the afternoon, check into your comfortable stateroom on your cruise ship in the Port of Vancouver. (FA)

Day 7 Inside Passage

Enjoy a cruise today through one of the most beautiful waterways in the world, with a labyrinth of mountainous islands, narrow canals, and breathtaking fjords! With a little luck, your ship will be accompanied by dolphins and orcas. (FMA)

Day 8 Tracy Arm and Juneau

On the way to the Tracy Arm Glaciers, you’ll start your day with a natural spectacle before your ship docks in Alaska’s capital. In Juneau, you’ll find a colorful mix of picturesque Gold Rush-era buildings, Victorian mansions, and modern architecture. A particularly worthwhile destination in the area is the Mendenhall Glacier with its shimmering ice field, which can be reached either by tour bus or helicopter (optional excursions, bookable through Holland America Line). Day 9 Skagway

Well-preserved Western-style facades, wooden sidewalks, hotels, and saloons here evoke the era of the Gold Rush. Our special tip: take a train ride on the historic White Pass and Yukon Railroad (optional excursions, bookable through Holland America Line). (FMA)

Day 10 Glacier Bay National Park

Today you will be cruising in one of the most spectacular glacier areas in the world! Against the unique backdrop of an alpine mountain world, you can watch the melting ice masses plunge into the sea and seals basking on ice floes glistening in the sun. (FMA)

Day 11 Ketchikan

Today, your ship will dock in Ketchikan. On historic Creek Street, you’ll admire Dolly’s House. Once a brothel, now a museum, it serves as a reminder of the wild days of the Gold Rush, as depicted by Jack London and Charlie Chaplin in their works. (FMA)

Day 12 Inside Passage

Relax on board and take another opportunity to snap some fantastic photos as your ship navigates the wondrous labyrinth of the Inside Passage. (FMA)

Day 13 Return journey

You disembark in Vancouver. A transfer takes you to the airport, from where you fly back home. (B)

Day 14 Arrival at home

You will arrive at Frankfurt Airport this morning. This marks the end of your journey through two wonderful worlds. (If you booked without flights, your trip ends on Day 13.)
