6 Simple Steps to the Perfect Antarctic Expedition

Sep. 24, 2024General, Antarctica & South Pole, Wiki Antarctica

Dear polar pioneers,

You have been searching for the perfect Antarctic trip for weeks and months.

They scour the internet. The selection is huge.

You click from page to page.

From provider to provider.

From trip to trip.

You talk to colleagues, friends, and acquaintances who have already visited Antarctica.

They hear what they liked and also what wasn't so good.

Would the same trip your friend took be something for you?

Somehow, you have heard, read, and seen so much about Antarctic travel, but you wonder if there might still be ships, routes, and trips that you haven't heard of yet?

Of course, you want a high level of security.

But which companies are reputable?

What are the differences between the providers?

Now you write to providers and everyone sends you their offers and really just wants to sell you "their" trips. Until now, no one has been interested in whether these trips are right for you.

The price of the trip is also quite important. After all, a trip to Antarctica costs a little more than "normal" trips.

And now questions arise even more:

  • Where is the price-performance ratio right?
  • Where can I find the best deals?
  • Is my money safe?
  • Is the provider solvent?
  • Will I get my money back if the trip cannot take place?
  • Will I have competent contact persons, or will I end up on hold with call centers whose employees answer my questions with pre-written scripts and then try to sell me a cell phone or electricity contract in the next conversation?
  • Do I have a contact person who can assist me on site in the event of irregularities? Even if I am traveling in a different time zone?
  • How important is it that the travel provider also plans my journey to the end of the world?
  • Who offers me the most information material before the trip?
  • What can I do if my flight is canceled or changed while I am traveling?

And, of course, my expectations regarding the content and style of the trip should also be met.

After all, if I'm going to travel to Antarctica, I don't want to compromise and only book the trip that's perfect for me.

  • Which route allows me to see the most of Antarctica?
  • In which season do I see the most whales?
  • Where are most penguins found?
  • Would you prefer a large or a small ship?
  • Would you prefer a classic route or something more unusual in regions that are rarely visited?
  • Oh no! It's unthinkable that I would want to travel like one of the early explorers on an authentic research vessel and then end up on a luxury cruise ship with a tie and jacket in the evening (and vice versa, of course).
  • I want to be close to nature and experience the tranquility of the seventh continent and the Southern Ocean with its inhabitants up close, but there are 300 to 400 other passengers on board my ship. The background noise of other people chattering never stops, and when we go ashore, lots are drawn to decide who can come today and who has to wait until tomorrow. Help! I don't want to be here.

Questions upon questions.

The solution is quite simple and obvious.

Here is our step-by-step guide to your perfect once-in-a-lifetime trip to Antarctica:

There is a way out of your dilemma and a shortcut to booking your Antarctic trip that you feel comfortable with.

Simply delegate the selection process to us!

Good advice is essential for expedition trips.

We are familiar with all ships, routes, and voyages in Antarctica and can tell you "at the touch of a button," so to speak, which voyage suits you and your wishes.

All we need is your priorities, which we can easily find out from you in amultiple-choice questionnaire.

Step 1: Complete the questionnaire.

We have developed aquestionnairethat asks about your personal preferences. So if you don't know exactly what you're looking for, we make it easy for you. The right questions and multiple-choice answers lead us to your goal: your ideal Antarctic expedition.

Fill out the questionnaire here.

Step 2: Schedule a consultation by phone or Zoom at your preferred time

We are personal and happy to take plenty of time for you and your questions!

Your Antarctic journey is important to us. We want to know what you like.

By the way: We know that you are busy with work and your private life! That's why we also offer appointments in the evening and on weekends. We are there when it suits you.

Would you like to skip step 1 and make an appointment right away?

Select your preferred date here

> Oh no, you'd rather call right away. Here you go: +49 201 858 909 60 (also WhatsApp!)

Step 3: You will receive your written quote

With the results from the questionnaire and our conversation, we can already narrow down your wishes to a few trips. We know all the trips, all the ships, and all the routes.

Based on your preferences, we filter out the trips that are right for you and put together a written offer with trips that are perfectly suited to you.

Now it's up to you to make a decision!

Step 4: Do you have any questions?

Bring it on!

We will answer your questions by email. Or simply call us at +49 201 85890960.

By the way: we will reserve your trip/preferred cabin until we have clarified all questions. This allows you to make your decision at your leisure.

This is also the moment when we clarify:

  • Would you like us to book your travel to and from the destination, or would you prefer to do this yourself?
  • Would you like to spend a few days in Buenos Aires or Ushuaia? We can help you plan your trip!
  • On the way to Antarctica, you also have the ideal opportunity to visit the breathtaking Iguazú Falls on the border between Argentina and Brazil.
  • Would you like to take a tour of Patagonia's mountains, glaciers, and national parks before or after your Antarctic expedition? We have already put together some affordable, ready-made travel packages for you. Get in touch with us!
  • Of course, we will also clarify whether your existing insurance coverage is sufficient or whether we need to increase it a little for your expedition to Antarctica.

We are well versed in all matters relating to your Antarctic expedition!

Step 5: Your travel booking

Congratulations!

You have found "your" Antarctic trip and would now like to book.

We just need a few personal details from you:

Your names, address, dates of birth, and a copy of your valid passport.

You will now receive your official offer with all pre-contractual information and details about the trip. If everything is OK, please sign and return it to us.

Your subsequent invoice (together with the travel price insurance certificate) will inform you of the amount of the deposit now due (25% of the travel price) and the date for your final payment (30–60 days before departure, depending on the provider).

Step 6: Welcome to inventia, and now: just look forward to it!

Once we have received your deposit, you will receive confirmation. From now on, you can look forward to your trip! Your Antarctic expedition is in the bag.

It was very easy for you: WITHOUT weeks or months of research. You simply delegated the selection process to us.

Especially when our welcome package arrives at your home: sparkling wine to toast your dream trip and a high-quality travel guide about Antarctica.

With polar regards,

Yours, Stephanie Gräf
