Ilulissat is an interesting little town known for its excellent whale watching opportunities. Since most of Greenland lies above the Arctic Circle, the sun does not set in summer – in many places, especially in Ilulissat, numerous tours of the iceberg fields are therefore offered in the evenings and at night. Whale watching under the midnight sun is something you can't do in many places in the world.
The Hotel Icefiord has 36 rooms, 16 of which are deluxe rooms with private balconies and panoramic windows extending to the ceiling, allowing guests to view the Northern Lights. There are also various apartments that are well suited for families. All rooms and apartments have a beautiful view of Disko Bay and the icebergs and are furnished in a cozy Nordic style.

The studio apartments are located approximately 1.5 km from the Hotel Icefiord. The one-room apartments feature a double bed, bathroom with sink, shower, and toilet, and a small kitchenette. The apartments share a large terrace.

Superior Apartments
The Superior Apartments have the same amenities as the Studio Apartments, but are slightly larger and have been recently built. The apartments are also located 1.5 km from the Hotel Icefiord and offer a double bed, bathroom with shower, sink, and toilet, and a kitchenette.

Annex Apartments
The Annex Apartments are located just 50 meters from the Hotel Icefiord and are perfect for families. The apartments have a bedroom with a double bed, a living room with a cozy sofa area, a bathroom with a shower, sink, and toilet, and a kitchenette.

The hotel's restaurant serves traditional Greenlandic cuisine and offers stunning views of Disko Bay and the icebergs. The kitchen places great importance on using local produce from the Ilulissat area. The menu varies depending on the season.
Beer, wine, and drinks are served in the bar and in the cozy lobby with a fireplace.

You fly directly to Ilulissat Airport. From there, it is only a 10-minute drive to the hotel.
Ilulissat is located on the west coast of Greenland and is the third largest city in Greenland. The Hotel Icefiord is located directly on Disko Bay and has a beautiful view of the bay. Just south of Ilulissat is the Ilulissat Icefjord, which flows into Disko Bay and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2004.
Hiking
Greenland's untouched nature offers many beautiful hiking routes. There are routes for every level. From the hotel, you can hike to Ilulissat Fjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or to the ancient settlement of Sermermiut, where various Inuit cultures settled for four millennia. Snowshoe hikes are also possible in winter.
Whale safari
The 4-hour boat tour takes you through the icebergs to the best spots for whale watching. Up to 15 different species of whales live in the waters around Greenland. Although most of them are only encountered sporadically, humpback, fin, and minke whales can be seen regularly between July and September.
Iceberg TourSpend 2.5 hours on a boat trip through Disko Bay to see the largest and most impressive icebergs.
Greenland from the air
A helicopter or small plane will take you to the majestic Ilulissat Glacier and the gigantic icebergs at the end of the fjord—a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
