Bjørnfjell Mountain Lodge

Alta, Finnmark, Norway

379 km above the Arctic Circle

The mountain huts located approximately 380 km north of the Arctic Circle have deep roots in Norwegian agriculture and hut culture. On average, Norwegians spend 60 days a year in huts. This is part of their cultural heritage. In the past, farmers took their livestock to the mountains to graze in the summer, and while they tended their cows and sheep, they lived in small cabins. In the mountain cabin, they lived off the food they produced, the berries they gathered, and what nature provided them.
