The so-called “Sherry Triangle” between Jerez de la Frontera, El Puerto de Santa María, and Sanlúcar de Barrameda is considered the heart of sherry production. The name “sherry” is derived from the Arabic word “Sherish”—the historical name for Jerez, where this special wine originated. A traditional lunch provides a delightful refreshment before you discover Andalusia from a new perspective: from the water. Did you know that Cádiz is considered the oldest city in the Western world? A boat ride across the Atlantic bay of Bahía de Cádiz (weather permitting) takes you to the city of the same name. There, you’ll explore the charming old town and the lively market district and visit the Torre Tavira—a historic watchtower housing Spain’s first camera obscura.
