For 2026: Two new extraordinary Antarctic expeditions in the program
When we receive new travel inquiries from potential customers via our Antarctic inquiry form, two travel wishes are at the top of most people's lists:
- Crossing the Antarctic Circle
2. Camping, kayaking, and long hikes on the seventh continent
Until now, we have not been able to fulfill these wishes within a single trip, because our trips have either taken you across the Antarctic Circle or to our base camps along the northern Antarctic Peninsula or in the Weddell Sea.
But now we have a new trip that covers all these wishes: a base camp below the Antarctic Circle, where camping, kayaking, long hikes, and much more are included in an incredibly affordable price.
The second new expedition we would like to present to you today also takes you beyond the Antarctic Circle, to the impressive Wilkins Ice Shelf.

This 14-day expedition to the Antarctic Peninsula is ideal for active explorers. From Ushuaia, you will cross the legendary Drake Passage towards Antarctica – and then cross the Antarctic Circle.
There, the rustic former research vessel MS Ortelius will be your floating base camp. However, you will spend a lot of time on land and on the water.
The base camp offers an active program: sea kayaking tours to remote coastal areas (with a little luck accompanied by whales frolicking in the Southern Ocean), hours of hiking across snow-covered terrain, a photography workshop for all skill levels, and snowshoeing deep into the Antarctic wilderness—all included.
You can also look forward to an unforgettable experience: spending the night under the open sky on Antarctic soil. During the short night at the end of the midnight sun, you will sleep surrounded by the vast silence of the ice desert. The view of the southern starry sky with the striking Southern Cross will remain in your memory forever.
If you are physically fit and want to experience Antarctica in a particularly intense way, this trip offers excellent value for money and comes highly recommended.
Only travel date next year: March 4, 2026 – March 17, 2026
Price: from €10,200 per person

The waters around Lazarev Bay and the mysterious Glinka Islands remain largely unexplored to this day. On this 14-day voyage, you will have the rare opportunity to rediscover the White Continent. An expedition in the truest sense of the word!
Maps are unreliable in this region—navigation is based on aerial photographs from the last century. Ice-covered islands appear where there should be nothing, and the untouched polar world remains silent and unchanged. This is the original Antarctica, as it once was.
Aboard the small MS Ortelius, you will venture far beyond the southern polar circle. On Zodiac excursions, you will explore the spectacular landscape up close. The weather will determine your course, and the ice will guide your expedition team. Although you will be pursuing specific goals on this route, the nature of this expedition requires flexibility. When opportunities arise, your highly experienced captain and his equally experienced expedition team will seize them. If ice conditions and light permit, you will sail through the "iceberg graveyard" of Lazarev Bay and head for those mysterious, uncharted islands. Two of them are quite large – and could be completely unknown to the world. Will you be among the first to discover these new islands?
Only travel date in 2026: February 18, 2026 – March 4, 2026
Price: from €11,000 per person
